Very interesting. This video should've been 20 minutes long.
was just thinking this
I love that airy “ooh ooohhh” sound when you hit a machine component and deal crit damage. I’ve been trying to find it online.
Now, that pc port is made, you can simply find it, I guess ☺
I love you too, deer. 03:53
❤
I can only say it over and over. The quality in your videos is staggering. Loved every one of them so far.
It's criminaly sad that he doesn't have a big following
The structure and pace of his videos remind me of those of really established "video essay" channels like nerdwriter, lessons from the screenplay and especially vox. And vox is a big media-company with dozens of employees.
04:30 also a perfect example is ava from ex machina. Her voice is human while her movements sound robotic
I adore the sounds for the sawtooth. The stomping of it patrolling an area keeps you on edge, and its low howl it lets out reminds you “oh boy this thing can eat me whole.”
This is 3 years old I know, but I have yet to see anyone else say the same. Literally my favorite sound in the entire game are its footsteps as it patrols while you sneak.
I'm glad I wasn't the only one blown away by the sound design in this game. Specifically the "clink" of glass when shooting a blaze canister, which you featured in the opening shots of this video, clued me into how much detail there was. The combat feedback sounds are the most iconic and memorable I've ever heard.
It was sad to hear Anton say that most people don't pay attention to the sound design at all. It's true, but it shouldn't be. Guerilla did something amazing with this game, and I hope your interview helped them realize how many of us appreciate what they did. Thanks to you, and many, many thanks to Anton and Pinar.
please please do more interviews with sound designer from games. this was stupendous and super informative.
As an indie game dev just finding your channel today, sound design is so often overlooked. Reallly great video here. Subbed.
Personally, my favorite sound is the Thunderjaw firing it's plasma guns
The sound design for Horizon and HFW is superb, having a proper surround sound system is needed to truly appreciate it
Aaah it's Anton from Game Audio Podcast, totally recognise his voice! Good work mate, more of these the merrier.
:)
excuse me, thanks for your answers about sounds design, but what is the meaning of "Sinti element" in this vedio 05:21? I would be thankful for your answer. : )
@@user-lo7bp7wu7s Late to the party. I figured it was "synth-y" but with the accent.
My personal favourite is the bison-like 'Trampler' it's graphical design and its sounds give it such an amazing presence, such a 'might'.
Brilliant Video! I wish it was longer... Horizon has so many phenomenal sounds :)
Im just eating each one of your videos one after another today that i found your channel. Each one is completely AMAZING and I feel like my mind is expanding as a sound technician and wannabe designer. Keep this up!! Im loving each bit of this!
This channel is insane. Every video I click on (I'm on a roll atm since I was looking for something exactly like this) is sick. Good script, makes me laugh which I wasn't even asking for, gives lots of insight into how people behind the scenes think and do things and is totally to the point. I wouldn't even mind if some videos were a bit longer and more detailed either
This is the epitome of excellent youtube channels! Niche, Super informative, hands on, and no click bait! You need to have more subscribers man keep it up. This might be a generic request but it would be awesome to see how they did the sound design for the Last of Us
This was awesome!! Keep up the great work.
There's one particular sound that really stuck with me, and that's when you shoot the liquid sacks on the Bellowbacks. Love the attention to detail in this game!
The sound design of Horizon is one of the reasons I constanly return to the game. I am in love with all of it`s sounds - the movement, the combat sounds, ambient music, pretty much everything.
My favorite sound would probably be the Ravager`s call. It is such a wonderful mechanized howl, I adore it.
One of the first things I noticed about this game was the sumptuous sound design. Especially love the movement sounds, because they're so rich and full, and really communicate that feeling of weight and the complexity of the shape that's moving.
Incredible video, especially the environment sound comparison
My favorite sound is that sonic wave attack the longleg has
Thanks for doing this one Marshall! Very cool to see some of my old colleagues in one of your videos!
The two sound designers on the video look like perfect nerds for the job in the best possible sense, would totally hire them
Dude your videos are so amazing. You have a great presence, speak so clearly and you’re so informative with the choice of words. Being a player of this game myself I felt like I just wanted to sit down and have a huge chat about the sound design in this game. Thanks man, I hope your videos come back to life soon 🤙🏽🙏🏽
Bump into your channel by searching a headset for PS4 , I'm glad i kept watching your videos man.
You got yourself a new sub
thank's from Brazil. I really appreciated you channel.
3:31 "the robot sounds", then shows a clip of the arrow sound
You should do a video on the sounds in Half-Life 2. imo that game has amazing sound design. from the radio chatter of the Combine metro police to the bugs chirping away in Route Kanal, to the otherworldy and deep ambient noise coming from the ever looming Citadel in City 17.
My favourite sound is when a ravager sees you for the First time and screams to say other ravager that you are here
At 3:32 that is the sound of the Tearblast Arrow. I really like the sounds & music in the game. Good video.
It's nice to see this channel grew quite a bit in subscribers.
I love the watcher machine sound when they attacking on you and I love all the sound
I really appreciate you actually hunting down and interviewing the team instead of just talking about the game's sound - im definitely subbing and checking out your other videos
Best sound is the death bringer. I just stood there hiding, listening to him for minutes =O
and how they integrate the deathbringer sound effects (the scraping metal sound like it's turning a gun turret or something) into the Eclipse theme!!
Thank you. I'm so glad I found this channel.
Reminds me of the sound designer on Skyrim at Bethesda Mark Lampert, the guy did some really great work on Fallout 3 as well.
Incredible Video, so much work put into this!
I think my favorite sound is the little whistle that the thunder birds make.
Good channel Marshall, thank you. The information in most cases was useful for me. And also it’s interesting to watch such creative video editing.
Wayyyy underrated channel.
My favorite sound is the laser sound effect the thunderjaws, scrappers and ravagers make.
Man, I love your videos! Can't believe I missed this amazing channel till now. Actually my game designer pointed it out to me.
The ravangers howl is so awesome... I was so intimidated the first time I heard it that I instandly ran.
Aww I wish this video was longer. Great work!
My favourite sound, specifically, is the "all clear" bark that the ravagers make when they stop noticing you, or kill a target.
your videos are amazing, each one makes me appreciate and want to understand sound in games more.
This content is amazing, thank you so much for this!
Cool video, dude. Nice and engaging :)
Yo marsh. Sickest fucking intro yet.
Gosh, why did I discover this video just now? This should be longeeeeeeer! Btw I love Fire-/Frostclaw sounds, they really do make an impression of a bear. But I do love every sound in this game!
Went on a random search and found this great video!
these videos are amzing keep up the good work
Great video keep it up! I was hoping you would for a future video explore the topic of how Sci-fi games manage to make space sound interesting. Ambience, space ships, combat, giant stars, and the likes.
eyy your channel is about to blow tf up
While I may not have been a massive fan of the actual game cycle, the design of the enviroments and sound is all pretty goddamn cool
My personal favorites are the sounds of Glinthawks, Longlegs and Scrapers which sound like hyenas.
Great video on a great game! Keep them coming!
Great work btw, would have loved to hear more
dope video... this is a topic i never knew i loved. PLEASE if you are still doing this, do a video about metal gear games
Loved this!
your videos are really interesting and fun to watch keep up the good work!
This is so cool
My favorite sound is in the final chapter when Hades has to be destroyed and an alarm goes off in the giant tower
You MUST do a video about Eric Brosius, designer of the firsts episodes of Thief series by Looking glass studios. That game alone (Thief the dark project) made me aware of the importance of sound design in videogames.
Cool video!
It would be even cooler if when you giving examples beside visual examples you could add the actual sound examples too 1:33
Btw. You have a new subscriber ;)
Yoooo, just found you randomly. As a music producer i find interesting as fuck!
Way too little people gives a thought to these things..
Also extremely cool that you got an interview. I sub'ed!
What game should you cover next? Try Rust! The sound design for that game is astonishing!
thank you for this!
Great video. Was that everything you got from that interview? It would be great to get an unedited, or much less edited version.
Yo. Your channel is good.
This was such an interesting video! Thank you.
Thank you! We learned a lot from your video :)
I wonder what kind of headphones he uses
Beyerdynamics DT880, if I'm not mistaken
@@walter_the_danger I also believe that's right. I have the 770 and 990, they are awesome, but these should be even better.
@@markozivanovic117 No they are not. I personally favor 990 but they are open design. Not suited for noisy environments.
Oh no! I really wanted to get to the ambient sound. Is there a second part to this interview? Thanks for this work btw!
This makes me consider buying the game.
My favorite sound is when you hit the enemy in the critical spot with a bow
Oh hey it's one of those channels. You know the one's that start gaining more and more attention and all of a sudden bam a year later and 100k sub and going up.
Can you make a video with just the sounds of all of the robots, please?
hey love your channel, kinda found it by accident because my gf was playing horizon and all i wondered was wow how the f did they make those sounds.
anyway keep up the good work.
Amazing video! I also really love the sound design of Horizon Zero Dawn, the sound I like the most is the SFX that comes in if you pick up special items (green, blue, lila). The sound gives you a very subtle hint of wich quality you picked up and what is really important: The sound has a very low volume, so I realized about the exist of this sound after 2-4 Hours of playing.
But, what is your favorite sound of HZD?
Greetings
i would love to see a video on guilty spark voice.
4:33 anxiety triggered
Did some one notice some similarity in Horizon Zero Dawn and The Mandalorian soundtracks?
man i already love you))
subscribe .sound effects or video games !! CA
without a master sound designer any game would be boring
I sometimes look at your view count and wonder why your channel is only still budding. Way more people should be watching this
You know which sounds are also suuuuuper cool??? Some animals are walking. You can hear the difference clearly. I love the Shell-walker sound, but can’t find it on YT :/
beautiful video. sub.
Do a video on DOOM
Marshall come back!
Hi Marshall, can you suggest how to make the sound of the concussion, as in the games?(for example the hero get the projectile launcher and then go to like an echo from the other characters and something else)
Is there any chance to know the birds species' sounds, call and songs?
Great video, fellow MM youtuber! Wish it was longer :D
You should analyze Mass Effect 2 and Elite Dangerous. I think it's one of the best sound designs I've ever heard in a game. Specially if you're into Scifi.
Any chance you could make a video about the sound design in the game SQUAD?
Cover Rainbow Six: Siege - the game is basically built around the sound.
Dude! Make a Patreon, i'll gladly trow my wallet at you
wait, guerrilla made this game? you mean the guys behind killzone?
