This was an INCREDIBLE fight, with a totally unexpected result! Red Devil went in with a plan, and they executed it beautifully. And that battery smoke at the end has to be one of the craziest things I've ever seen on this show. Witch Doctor literally looked like it was melting, Wicked Witch style.
No duh about the Wicked Witch thing, but I disagree! That was not a good fight. At least to watch... when Witch Doctor started pouring idon'tknowwhat liquid out, it got very devastating from there.

I'm still not positive whether it was the saw or the claws that caused the damage to WD. The saw didn't look like it was doing much but the gripper may have crushed WD's frame a bit.
Proof positive that there's no real reason to use minibots. Team Witch Doctor said it themselves: if they continued to use the frontal plow, they would've been a far better match. A shame too- I was rooting for them.
Eh, tiny wedgebots sometimes slow down main bots quite a lot but flamethrowers on them are totally redundant, drones are the useless ones, at least nobody managed to put any worthy weapon on one...
Witch Doctor did make the mistake of bringing Shaman and not make use of their wedge, but minibots can be effective when used well. Like how SOW's minibot was able to wedge itself under Ghost Raptor and pin it for a good blow.
DannickFox Look closely in the Ghost Raptor vs SoW fight. If you look closely, shortly after Ghost Raptor's blade jets jammed, you can see one of its chain drives was wrecked, making driving it around insanely difficult if not impossible. The minibot really didn't even need to be there.
I know Shaman is a fan favorite but honestly, they should never EVER use it. Witch Doctor is a top 5 bot with it's durable plow in front, and one of the worst in the field without it. Not only is the plow durable as hell, it sort of scoops opponents up into the sweet spot of it's powerful spinner. Shaman does nothing and is there. I have a feeling they went in arrogantly and took the plow off. With the plow on, RD does not get the grab and instead gets a face full of spinner.
Witch Doctor is one of my favorite bots and I really like their team (they were my favorite to win in S1) but they really need to learn how to drive. Seriously, Andrea drove it right into Red Devil's clamp. If I were them I'd ditch Shaman (which they have), keep that plow, and focus more on immobilizing opponents going for their wheels and the like. There's hardly a clear strategy here and it's unfortunate because that's a beautiful bot with an amazing design. It reminds me of a combat robot called Orange Krush that caused insane amounts of destruction at this tournament I volunteered at and ended up winning.
This is probably the most BRUTAL knockout I've ever seen it BattleBots Witch Doctor laying there, with robot blood spilling out and smoking like a campfire.
Defo one of the most surprising upsets of this season - most people would have postulated that Witch Doctor would've prevailed, especially with Red Devil and those exposed tracks.
Flamethrowers do have use, but rarely do you see a bot that uses a flamethrower correctly. One example of one that does is complete control. Check out his match vs bombshell

These machines run on smoke. The important thing is to make sure the smoke stays inside the machine. If you let the smoke out, the machine stops working.

Complete Control won it's match against Bombshell because of its flamethrower though.
Alot of people use flames purely to get selected for BB in the first place, as you need to be different, cool or otherwise good TV to get selected.
