I know a 13 y.o who's able to lift 180 kg for 1 rep in D-L. And he's been in the gym for only 1 year. Imagine Maximus Hall at 14, 16 or 18. He will be an absolute beast considering the age he started lifting at and his obviously great genetics.
I love that Eddie's son got into lifting through him, BUT lifting this heavy is not good for a kid! it's not even good for a teenager, let alone an approaching teenager..
@@slXD100 Honestly dude do you even know what ur talking about? Not good for a teenager to lift this much? He has WSM as his dad, I’m sure he’s got the muscles for this and the genetics. Also lifting heavy as a teenager is not dangerous if you do it properly and have the right coach. I’m sure Eddie would’ve never let his kid lift this much if he wasn’t sure his kid could manage to do this. Again this kid grows for every day, so not good with lifting this much in his age I don’t see why that would’ve been a problem considering he grows every day. It’s like telling a grandpa you’re not supposed to pull this amount of weight even tho he has the best coach in the world and the muscle fibers for it. Also. If it isnt good for a kid to lift this much, how come some of kids in his age is World champions in lifting heavy weights? They lift almost double the weight max does. And they haven’t had any problem at all with it, in fact that have helped them.
@@Gymbuds it isn't about the muscles, more so about the cartilage and growing bone plates which get stunted if you lift heavy as a kid, but hey buddy sure, keep talking out of your ass. cheers
@@slXD100 I’m sure I know what I’m talking about, otherwise I’d be quiet. You clearly don’t lift if you think that it’s bad for a kid to lift this. Now max has experience in gym. Of course if a random kid just goes to the gym for the first time and starts lifting 120kg in D-L and never ever done that before, of course that’s break the bone in their body. But if it’s a kid that’s got experience with it, for example Maximus then they know what they are doing otherwise we wouldn’t see a video from him inside a gym. And I’m sure his father Eddie knows exactly what he is doing and what not to do whenever they lift heavy weights. If you listen in the video after Maximus has pulled 120kg, Eddie looks after Maximus to see if he’s okay. But yes, clearly I take stuff straight from my ass yeah? Shouldn’t talk before knowing. If a kid has experience with the gym, of course there could be some injuries if they do it differently and go fully EGO mode on it. But if you take the right form with proper technique and patience IM sure a kid is just fine pulling this weights. Of course it could destroy your bone structure, it can do that to whoever. But if you train the technique properly and look after your kid, I’m sure everything works just fine. And if you say I take things out my ass, do you even know half the things that’s happening while you workout? You probably say that it’s bad because you’ve heard it from some sources BUT in fact working out as a kid, pulling heavy weights now and then, not daily. Is extremely healthy for the body. It doesn’t ruin your bone structure if you do things properly and stop whenever it feels strange. I’ve said this but I say it again, I’m sure Eddie would’ve never let Maximus pull this amount of weight if he wasn’t sure in his experiences and his knowledge. Absolutely insane! You will look back at the days you where young and realize just how impressive this is for an 11 year old. The guy in blue shirt could not believe hes eyes😅
Be careful at that age you are dealing with an immature skeleton. The risk of damage is pretty high. I had an old car at ten which I was restoring. I lifted the block out (only a little 4 cylinder) on my own and blew lumber. Never really healed 100%. Great work, but don't push too hard . 💪👍
Good advice. I also got a severe weightlifting injury at age 17. I worked my way up to a 225 pound deadlift. That doesn’t sound like much for a guy, but eventually it tore my left hip labrum and I developed bony overgrowths in my hip called Hip Impingement. I found out have acetabular retroversion, and it increased the risk of hip issues. My hip would bind up at 90 degrees flexion. I had surgery, and now at three months out, not much changed. I might have a wrecked hip joint for the rest of my life, and I’m only 18 now. People, please don’t push yourself too hard.

I was thinking that's an insanely fast progression from 100, but it's a high handle trap bar DL, so it makes sense. Still very strong. I'm not even pursuing strength primarily anymore. Once I bulk again, it will all be hypertrophy-focused reps-and-sets-style training. I'll get huge and then I can leverage that into a lot of strength when I need it. Never forget that if you feel beat up or sick of the heavy weights, doing light movements and training like this is still incredibly productive, and a nice break from strength training.
I'm skinny, and I want to straing neuromuscalirity first, and then do size - id rather go strneght, otherwise its boring. I can't stand doing 12x4 with a light ish weight, id rather do 8/10 x 3 with heavier weight
Usually the set count is written first. I recommend that approach for beginners too. To learn the fundamental movements of the body and gaining great kinesthetic awareness is worth perhaps not making quite as fast muscle gains in the beginning.@@aurelianspodarec2629
