It’s about the teaching and discipline of our parents. Respect is one of the important factors that our parents taught us especially to our elders. We have this called Bayanihann. It means neighbourhood helping and sharing each other. Even if we’re not related by blood, we still call them auntie or uncle. If you have siblings or even neighbours if you’re older than them, they will call you Ate for female or Kuya for male. And for elders you take their hand and put it in your forehead and say Mano Po.
