He absolutely did the right thing to stand up for his friends especially the way this business treated them. I love this because it goes to show you we are stronger together when we deal with racist people like this. Hopefully they lose a lot of business and go under for what they did. What a shame that we still have to deal with ignorant people like this that are still living in the past. Love how the guy was like I was just bragging to all my friends about this place too. Goes to show you you will stick up for family and friends no matter what, because at the end of the day we all bleed red.

We need this energy in our classrooms, work spaces, in our recreational and social environments. It's the only way to actually elevate black voices to an equitable level when there's so much blatant racism accepted and promoted in our society.
He was calm, respectful, and serious, trying to have an honest discussion and this guy just attempts to gaslight the whole group.
I had a similar experience, many many years ago.
i am part Lakota, and could easily pass for White. A few years ago my cousin and a few friends dropped in at a restaurant in North Dakota. The owner told us straight out the I could eat there, but not those dammed Indians. I asked my Apache Blood Brother if they were hungry enough that I could go in and get the food and bring it back out to them.
We took a vote, and not one of us wanted any food that badly.
We drove to the next town and found another restaurant, and all of us went in. We sat at a big table and ordered our food. It was fresh, cooked right, and not one mention of our race.
Once word spread around about the first idiot, he had to close up. The only ones who would go in there were his lifelong friends. They sat and drank coffee most the day.
People do stupid things like this. What the hell makes any difference what color your skin is, or who you want to love? If that's all I have to worry about, my life would be incredibly dull.

I believe racists should be allowed to put signs up on their business doors "no coloreds/Indians/whites/whatever." That way, everyone can know upfront and save our money.

As a POC who was raised in private Christian school, i have to say that I've stood up for my white friends my whole life and i will continue to do so til the day i die. And they have done the same for me. It sickens me the way people act sometimes

People should not support this business. Racism should stop. We are all created beings, I am 56 years old and I have met the most beautiful, kind hearted black people.

My father was a walking talking bigot until the day he died. He was the most FEAR based man I have ever known. He acted tough but was scared even by small things. He would get angry and upset in a new restaurant while ordering off an unfamiliar menu. ANGER was the way he kept the unknown world at bay and didn’t allow them, or himself, to look behind the curtain and see the scared little boy he really was.
As a healthcare professional for over 45 years I observed the same fear in so many men as patients.
Men who didn’t have FEAR or overcame their FEAR, usually accepted themselves and others.
Hate is easy. Try Love.

Not surprising. I'm from AZ but lived in So Cal for half of my life. 71 now. I contracted to Mobile Aerospace in '99 and there was a bar down on Dauphin Island Parkway that didn't allow blacks. A gentleman who I worked with told me that the blacks down here "just know their place"! It was like going back to 1965!

. I wish that every time he said that these are friends of mine that he also said that even if they were not friends of mine this is still wrong.
