This problem is basically because of the window winder not able to move freely. When you press the window button, window controller starts the motor. But the window winder is not moving freely. Therefore motor draws more power. Window controller detects over current and immediately switches off. That is why you first hear the relay clicking on and immediately it clicking off. Another manifestation of this problem is - window goes down, but does not come up because there is more friction on the way up. Lubricating the winder at regular intervals solves this problem. This problem can also happen if the winder has stuck because you have not used it for long time. This is the experience of living with a Punto for 14 years.
