That's funny, because I've been getting news reports that here in Dublin these past few weeks there have been several flight diversions because of "illegal drone sightings" I don't know if it's a coincidence or what. Apparently they found the guy who flew the drones, but still. And last night myself and three other people saw 3-4 strange lights flying one after another over the rooftops of our neighbourhood, but we figured they must be one of those lanterns they use in Buddhist festivals, because they were flying in the direction of the wind. One way or another, there does seem to be more activity in the skies lately.
Reminds me of the Roswell incident. Where the government had to quickly grab their crashed anti soviet spy tech, called it a weather balloon because they werent about to just blab about the secret spy device, and people started to believe it was aliens.

I read an interesting short story about how the secret to FTL travel was incredibly easy to figure out and humans just never happened to discover it, so aliens came to invade with revolutionary war muskets, got destroyed, and then their tech unleashed humans on the rest of the universe
I mean it sounds like a cool story. And why not, we had oil on our planet that helped in industrial revolution and all. What if some supposed aliens have their version of "oil" on their planet that gives insane amounts of energy and allows for discovery of FTL travel. And on top of that, because of energy abundance they didnt had to war among themselves so no research into all those weapons humans have, or maybe they arent such savages as humans are.
Aliens dont have to have military technology developed as us, they just have to have space travel technology developed. I mean a snake by evolution has developed a offensive technology so to speak, it still can kill a human that has more of various kinds of technology.
That being said, i really doubt that those "UFO-s" in the news are aliens, they are just unidentified objects...thats all.

What amazes me is that despite all these sightings and the advances in camera phones, no one can take a good video.
yeah, it is weird, but remember cameras aren’t that good at picking up night skies, also people get caught off guard, the lights only last for a couple seconds, and people most often respond with shock so their first reaction is to either just stare. or to grab whichever friend/relative they have around and look at the light together. first time i saw an unusual light (bright blue moving light in the sky) i was about 9 and did not have a camera. a couple days ago i again saw a small part of the sky light up bright red, not moving this time, but it happened two nights in a row, and it was so weird and fast i couldn’t even think of pulling out my phone.
