At first, I thought it had something to do with a reprogramming process after it's done, but it turned out just a regular sealed transmission fluid change. However, keeping the fluid at the proper level is so crucial for the transmission to function smoothly with no jerking issues.

This will be the first transmission fluid change at 37k miles. Should I be ok not changing the transmission filter? When I called the dealer, I was surprised when they told me that they don't normally change the filter. I know it's a little bit of a pain to change the transmission filter on these, but it's not terrible. Your thoughts?
You can now use Amsoil transmission fluid just confirmed that it’s compatible with the Honda fluid!! Also, if you call dealerships and USA, they don’t even know that the transmission has an external oil filter a cartridge type filter. when servicing the transmission I totally recommend that filter being replaced. Mine was pretty dirty at 38K.
Hello George. Great video, however a couple of things. When you open the fill plug there is an obstruction there that forces whatever fill tube you have to turn sharply. If you open the level bolt at the same time as that fill bolt then the fluid pours out as you put it in. If you leave the level bolt alone until after the fill procedure is done, fluid will also rush out despite the fact that the fluid volume filled is as per owners manual. So, since the fluid started pouring out I just quickly put the fill bolt back on and cycled the gears as you did when prepping to do the fluid change. At that point when I opened the level bolt there were no fluid coming out of the level bolt. Would you able to post the instructions directly from the manual? Thanks
Hello. Been trying to diagnose a whine from my transmission especially on deceleration or acceleration between 15mph to 35 ish mph only. Any ideas please? It's a 2006 Acura TSX auto with 245k miles
If you call any dealership basically in United States on a 2019 RDX they don’t even know that the 10 speed transmission has a filter that’s replaceable fairly easy.. so when doing a trans fluid change, you should always replace the filter also!!

Can you do a video on the 2018 MDX generation 9 speed transmissions? It has an elaborate fluid replacement procedure, that some say can be by-passed with a simple drain and fill - just replace the same amount of fluid as drained out, given the fluid temperatures are about the same (cold).

I drove about 2 hrs then raised my car up to check, the fluid poured out. Was my car to hot or did I have to much fluid to begin with.

There is no front differential on your 2020 RDX, just a rear differential. The transfer case uses Honda's ATF 2.X, the same as your transmission.

Dealer should charge $13 and change per quart or less anything more and they are overcharging you
