PLEASE do NOT paint another ancient cabinet unless it's with shellac! This was so sad and very disappointing :(
@josephinehogg3629 Hello lady, this cabinet is about 30 years old and was mostly made of chipboard and poor quality wood, and I had no choice but to paint or repair it.

I was so looking forward to seeing those doors come back to life. They were the best part of this piece. I have no idea why you worked so hard on the rest of it just to chop up the most unique design feature.

With all due respect my friend, this cabinet was not an antique if you watch the full video! Most of it was chipboard that the manufacturer had acted poorly in its construction (about 30 years ago)...
Where was the hospital!?! You take it so hard...
Please don't be sorry, after 300 hours of work and 50 hours of video editing, I'm happy to turn a piece of junk into a consumable.

I agree!! The cupboard doors are what made the piece. It would have looked much better with glass, chicken wire, or new curtains on them.
@cecilialabel4565 The one that has been removed as the closet doors, the manufacturer used the lowest quality wood, most of which was filled with putty, which in the end was not a solution for painting....

I honestly like more the old piece and thought you were going to try to rescue these beautiful doors, but instead got rid of the best part. Maybe is just a difference in taste.

For anyone watching this video... this is a restoration! A restoration is not changing the use of the piece, it is not painting the piece to cover up damage. A restoration is returning the piece to its original functionality, to its original appearance, as much as possible. Absolutely wonderful work done here! Beautiful and high quality crafts!

Thank you for looking at the video technically, it is very difficult to work on chipboard with a wood nark finish and there is no choice but to paint or glue a new wood finish. When you have pieces at home, then you get tired of them for a long time and you change them or replace them with a new piece

If it mostly consists of particle-boards with veneer on them = it is “not” old but a modern/reproduction piece of tat. Furniture that has real wood in them are old/vintage or antique

Beautiful! Most People would look at this Cabinet and say it's not worth saving. SO many Problems! It was so Abused And It May have been Poorly made by the Original Maker. I may be Naive on Furniture Construction but the Particle Board seems to have been used Oddly than on other pieces I've seen. It Was a Real Tear Down. A Great Job Putting it back Together into a Nice Modern Piece! Thank You!

I would not call this a restoration, restoration means bringing the object back to the original state. This is more of an rebuilding than restorations. Nice work anyway. 😊
