There's something about slow-crawling offroad that's just so satisfying to watch.
The logo intro is lit.
These videos are my therapy 🛻🛻
Very nice truck, especially loved the off-road part.
Nice rig, 86k is absurd though
Is it though? It's very easy to build out a ford F-250 super duty with a nice interior to 100k. I dont disagree that 86k is a lot of money but in terms of what you get from a truck it seems on par. Let me know if you see other trucks with these types of options for much less. I could be missing something.
@TedwardDrives i recently built out a ram 3500 and it came out to 106,000
@@TedwardDrives You're right. It's a common trend that everything nowadays seems to have skyrocketed in price, but people are still buying these vehicles and will probably continue to for a long while. A lot of folks online say they want a cheap, barebones, "real work truck" but when companies like Toyota or Nissan offer cheap, base model versions of their trucks, they don't sell. The days of sub-$20 or 30k trucks are long gone but some just don't realize it yet.
Everything is absurdly priced now-relative to the competition this is priced better
In Holland , Europe 220.000 dollar . Incl taxes. Just to pave the road for Chinese electric crap and Tesla -esque shit . Vote wise .
More (old) Diesels please :)
Agree.
@@Tinovodanovicare you serbian?
Man, I love these trucks. The Duramax is an absolute powerhouse of an engine. My folks own a 2022 Chevy dually and it's hilarious how quick it is when passing on the highway or just turning from a stop. As for the comments about your driving, ignore 'em man. Bunch of keyboard warriors trying to justify their existence on this earth. Take care and keep up the great work!
Those big bitches are a little tricky to drive when you're not used to it
It’s so clear that Europe and Japan perfected and refined the car and America perfected and refined the truck. Not a truck owner (yet) but might be looking at getting into one to tow a dedicated race car + supplies to the track. Never really realized how well thought out and usable pickups have become over the years, it’s pleasantly surprising. ZR2 is overkill for my use case for just towing a car around and the occasional light off-roading, but prices on these seem like they’re getting pretty wild for what it is which is kind of unfortunate.
Id love to see more Offroad reviews of you. Oddly relaxing.
Flying out to Moab for some off roading this week!
23:55 as someone whose neighbor owns an old F250, that gets quite annoying hearing him start that diesel truck every day at 6 am lol
Haha for real I agree
Great video thanks!
Great video!
Pretty cool and nice truck. I would consider getting one. Its the power of that diesel
13:06 cemetery street. It’s so weird knowing exactly where you are.
Why are you so fucking weird
I would LOVE to see you in an old 2000-2007 Duramax, those old beasts are insane with the right few upgrades. :)
I love you having your phone out for the facts while walking around the truck in the intro lol
Phone was not out for anything in the intro. That’s all off the dome. I was holding my audio recording device
10 speed does seem overkill until you tow with it, it’s always in the “powerband” unlike the outgoing 6 speed.
with you there that 10 speed makes a worlds difference in driving its so much nicer than the 6
You should try out a TRX!!!
16:19 I've never seen a GM switch to 4Lo so easily. Did they finally get rid of the goddamn vacuum system?
we need tedward in a bugatti
Why ? Have you seen the roads around there ? . Bugatti is - no discussion about that - the best built ever but it can only drive fast . And any idiot can put a pedal to the metal , even a 90 year old ( you all know one and where they parked 😂) .
Although it would be nice to see him take this muddy track with a Bugatti ..
@@Chappomusicbruh ridiculous statement lmao
It's not the turbo you are waiting on. Its the tq converter. It won't allow max tq to be applied to the wheels until a certain speed and lock up happens. And 3200 is likely the redline. Diesels don't rev high at all.
You can see the redline 😆. It’s higher
You will only see it go to redline under certain circumstances during engine braking. Under acceleration it will shift around 3200-3400 rpm.
@TedwardDrives Then it's the tq converter/shift strategy
Nice rig, personally probably way bigger than anything I need but it is nice and that torque is insane. Wish Toyota made a diesel engine in the US tho.
and im not so sure the new Toyota turbo v6 has the reliability of the old cars. its a shame
Where was that trail 👀👀
The red interior is hot.
Can you do some more american classics ? Ive watched the trans am review a thousand times , i loved that
I'll see what I can find! Should have a GTO judge soon
GTO! :D
What do you think about the 2002 ford thunderbird
Diesel powaaaaaaa
It might be that the phone has to go in with the top side down and the bottom side sticking out in order to make contact
96k with the Bison package….insane !
I have the same color. I bought mine last year though and missed out on the dark essentials and side steps. Mine didn't come with the 5th wheel but fine for me. FYI in normal drive mode it takes off in second gear. When towing it takes off in first. The 2500HD gas engines comes with a front locker. The diesel makes to much torque for the front locker so its not included. A Yenko 2500HD ZR2 would be bad Azz. Just found out they offer those.
Love the trail test. That truck made it look easy.
The brake feel probably reflects a hydroboost system.
my wife has one thing to say...."you so stupid"....in a funny way....she drives a 2500, or did, and loved it. We traded for a Jeep Rubicon Gladiator....and well...we miss the 2500 ////A lot.
I can say that 86k is a lot but I work in agriculture In california and and my new 6.6 duramax zr2 hd Is the best gm truck I have ever owned.
Been a while since your last truck review, it's nice to see another one. I've been pretty generous towards them (for an European) and your videos are the sole reason I definitely want to own one at some point before I put one foot in my coffin already so I can actually use it for purposes it's been made for. Now, when it comes to this one - it is actually too much for my European-programmed brain to comprehend. It is INTIMIDATING. Your Type R looked like an RC car next to it, genuinely. If I saw one behind me while sitting in a Golf or something similar size - I don't care, I'm speeding just to get away from it. 😂Like, some other trucks that you passed or the Wrangler or the Escalade - all of these cars were just tiny next to the Chevy. For me it felt closer in size to the red trolley(?) truck that you passed than to some other trucks present on video.
A thing I learned from this one is that big ahh trucks ain't for me. Felt a bit dizzy watching this due to how high you're sitting w/o piloting a semi. I think I couldn't do anything bigger than a TRX.
It always amazes me how capable these are. After you climbed that little hill with a ditch on the left, I was like "cool, now surely you're taking the left to turn back, right?" and then you just proceed to crawl forward like it's nothing. I am sitting with my palms getting sweaty over here, meanwhile the Chevy just takes it like it's nothing. That's the reason why you made me want to own a truck at some point - so I can first-hand experience offroad capabilities of one, learn the limits. It's just really fascinating for me for whatever reason. Also, on a final note - I like the big exhaust on this one.
Sorry for this obnoxious essay of a comment, but your truck vids always generate so many thoughts I just want to get out in hopes not a single soul wastes their time reading through them. 😶
I think the Colorado and Canyon are the perfect size. especially in ZR2 and AT4x trim levels
I understand the thinking behind electric running boards on this truck but my concern is what if I'm on the trail on rocky unlevel ground and I wanna get out and look at something. Are the running boards just going to kill themselves trying to open fully on the ground?
Goooooooood question
I believe they have overcurrent sensing so if the running boards become hard to move they just stop but could be wrong. That is a very good question lol
They can be turned off on the display for curbs or obstructions, and force deployed for washing etc…
Not many Stag will survive that Grill ! 🐏
Good to hear the transmission is smooth. So far the Ford/GM transmission has been a mess in terms of shift quality. Too bad you can't get the Allison in the 1500s.
I’ve never found the shift quality to be bad, it’s more so that the shift logic is poor and the transmission gear hunts or makes unnecessary shifts too often.
When we well see you driving a Ferrari F40?
I certainly hope its 2024.
Fuck an F40 i wanna see some damn pre war cars 😂😮🤌
Like the universe, these trucks won't stop expanding.
That said, I drove an F-250 and enjoyed the heck out of it.
this thing made the GX look like a Rav4 haha
What a beefy cute truck :3 woohoo ❤
Is this like a full time job or is it part time because it would be fun to have a new car every week
Full time job. I make 3 videos per week.
first!!!
i love you man! its been years since I've been watching your videos!
shit
That truck is heinous. It’s vehicles this size that make me question buying something small and zippy which really sucks.
I don't wanna sound like that guy (I am going to anyways) Can vehicles please stop growing? They are already so large and the amount of times I've been slowed down by someone trying to maneuver a Escalade or nearly got hit head on by a Suburban trying to fit down a not so narrow road is crazy. Also because of the high up position no matter how you aim those headlights they are going right into someones eyes. I think Minivans are far better than huge SUV's and they are so much fun to drive (heavily depending on the minivan).
I want to get a motorcycle, as I think I would be more comfortable due to issues I have driving. I'm terrified by the thought when 95% of the shit on the road is >5000lb tanks with blind spots the size of a Civic all with built in distractions. The average vehicle is way too fucking huge
Something something REAL MEN something something ‘MURICA bla bla bla…
Hahah love it. I definitely still got an ego boost driving by smaller trucks 😂
@@TedwardDrives Did you roll coal blasting past them? 😉
Not quite sure how 90k is a lot for a nearly fully loaded diesel truck.
yup thats what I said.
They are need a new diesel engine
The 6.6 sounds better and the new interior looks far better then GM interiors of old. These trucks are scandalously priced and shouldn't be considering, only because cavalier YOLO minded individuals who clearly don't mind foolishly spending their money on overly priced pieces of plastic ✌🏽🇺🇲
GM quality is getting worse by each year tho.
So thanks but no thanks.
GM should just go out of business for having their cars be financial scams. Just because their reliability is that bad.
( Learning about this stuff 🙋♂️ ) why do they have pitiful quality?
@@tylerbuck9347 cost reduction.
They manufacture the cars with cheap parts that will fail.
Planned obsolescence on steroids.
Their torque converter gearbox and electronics are subpar.
Not that Ford is a lot better they are almost as bad.
Chrysler is now owned by Fiat...
So that's that.
V8 petrol engines are bulletproof especially in Dodge, would stay away from anything else.
It’s just plain bad. I looked to buy the HD ZR2 when they 1st hit dealers in PHX. The left rear door fit very poorly. Rode like a dump truck on the highway (the DSSV rear shocks need some load before they will compress). After I passed on the purchase, I found out they failed to properly weld the body side to the rest of the body. This is a crash safety hazard. Not just the truck I test drove. All of the early builds had to be inspected for major structural repairs. And, would you want the dealer to tear out the interior & headliner to fix the body welds on your brand-new $85K truck?
Last GM I bought was a flat out mess. One of the early build C7 Z06s. Body panels mis-molded. Drivers door didn’t fit right. Manual transmission would get stuck in reverse gear. Engine suffered from heat soak if outside temps were above 80 degrees. Piece of sh#t.
That being said, I was really impressed by the Duramax. Luv me a good diesel!
@@faheemabbas3965 really isnt though that l5p duramax is leagues better than whatever dogshit you own
New diesel engines have far too many emissions problems. No thanks
REVIEW A HELLCAT
80k for a truck that will be in the shop with CONSTANT emissions issues.
If you're used to trucks, everything else is small.
F250 Tremor or 2500 Rebel is way better!
False
@@Gezuzu23 you telling me a dramas is better than a power stroke or a Cummins? 😂😂😂 you obviously aren’t a mechanic by any definition.
Stupid truck! (sorry to say)
Almost no one needs this and I see vehicles like this as a scourge jeopardizing pedestrian safety and offering no solutions to particulate pollution and greenhouse gas emissions.
This plastic piece of trash fisher price overpriced shit box is LAME!!! A G50 Q45 would of been much better. New Trucks SUCKS!!!
