DJI Air 3 Battery Flight Time Test: How long do they really last in the real world?

  • This is a test I have been wanting to do for a while. For me it's all about testing to see how long the drone would fly in a real-world scenario. I figured doing a couple of waypoints and some free flights to test the time on a battery would be the best, not just a hover test. This is what I found in my little test.
Thank you for taking the time to watch this video, and if you did, for leaving me a comment. As Always, Be Safe, Fly Safe and Have a Great Day!!

I just ordered me an Air 3 because my tax return came in. I unfortunately lost my Air 2 S to a Georgia pine tree. My mistake totally my fault. Anyway I used to only get 22-23 minutes with my Air 2S batteries. I’m thrilled I’ll be getting an extra 10 minutes with these batteries. Great job. You got a new subscriber.

Thanks for the comment and enjoy your New Air 3. I had the Air 2 before before this drone.
The Air 3 is packed with so many features, it really is a nice drone which I'm sure you'll enjoy. Take care and be safe

Nice testing and very interesting! I think it would still vary depending on wind condition and way of flying

Very interesting dave. 40 minutes to me is pretty darn good. I might have missed it but was it windy at all? Love my air3. Thanks for the video!

Glenn, No it was a pretty calm day the winds were 9 gusts to 16 mph (9G16). I was going to put that on the video and I forgot to add it. It's nice to know that this is a pretty good result. Thanks for the comment and be safe. 😀

The best I have ever got was 36 minutes on normal use that’s at 20% battery left, more than enough time to do what I need.

Yes, 36 minutes is a lot of time to fly. I know it gets to be a long day out there if you run through all three batteries 😂. Thanks for the comment. Be safe

That’s definitely enough time to need a break from flying. lol.

You are correct on that one sir. I know I was comparing it to the Mini 3 Pro which I actually think flies a little bit longer 🤔? But it doesn't have all the bells and whistles that this drone has either. I just know I like this drone 😀. It's so smooth and responsive and handles the wind better than my Mini 3 Pro. Thanks for the comment. As always, be safe. God bless

@@dk4droneslol any longer of a flight for me and I’d be ready for a nap! Haha. I hear what you’re saying though about comparing it to the mini 3. I’d bet there’s really no comparison, eh?

@@WeretheRoberts After a afternoon of flying the drones, I do feel like I need to take a nap 😴 haha.
The Air 3 just seems to and does fly better than the Mini 3 but that's not taking anything away from the Mini 3. It flies well for its sizes 😃. I just have to remember that the Air 3 weighs almost three times more than the Mini and that makes a big difference when it comes to stability 😄 but not for hiking around with 🥴.

That sounds about right. A lot of this depends on the altitude, wind and temperature. Thanks for the comment. Be safe.
