    I'm so thankful I came across your videos, there are other videos that I've watched that spoke only of heedful warnings about doing biomedical science and it started to make me feel unconfident. I'll be starting uni soon and I hope I have the same enthusiastic and happy attitude towards the course as you do 😊

    I’m a bit late it seems but I have a question regarding the degree itself. Some colleges/universities don’t offer biomedical sciences in my country but instead have other majors such as molecular biology and microbiology with very similar modules as biomed. So my question is, that is if you know or have any idea, does getting a degree in similar majors reap the same benefits as biomed or is one superior to the other? Thx in advance!

    • @LoveQualified
      @LoveQualified  Před 4 lety +1

      Hello. That is a very good question. They can all be very confusing tbh but there are differences between these courses which can be hard to explain. In the UK, as far as I know, biomedical scientists work either in research or in the lab to help investigate and diagnose diseases. Microbiologists specialise more with microorganisms like bacteria, viruses and fungi. If you were unsure about what antibiotic to treat a patient with, a microbiologists advice would be very useful. It's a very important aspect of medicine as there are a lot of infections with growing antibitotic resistance. Finally, molecular biology just deals with things on a cellular level and looks at cells, their structure, their components such as DNA, and nucleic acids, etc. I hope that helps :)

      I've made some videos in the past sharing tips on how to write your dissertation and also how I planned and wrote my critical review essays in undergrad. I'll leave the links below. In terms of exams, my biggest tip is to find the exam technique which works for you early on and stick to it. It also helps to try to stay consistent with revision. If you find a method which works for you, stick to it, practise past paper questions as much as you can and then don't hesitate to ask for help whenever you need it.
