just serviced my late father's 64 galaxie. It has been in our family since he bought it used in 73 for 250.00 cash. I drive it around every summer and it is fully restored. This video brought tears to my eyes. I'm sure my dad would have enjoyed it as much as I did! Thanks

For the longest time my dad would only buy either 6 cyl or the smallest V8's available , mostly stripped Ranch Wagons (we were always a Ford family). All of our neighbors were climbing the status ladder with fancier cars. Then in '66 he bought a 4 door Galaxie 500 w/ Factory AC with the 390, but only the 2 barrel carburetor, and it was also strangled with the first year of the smog pump, remember those , but it was a first step. What ineffective POS's those pumps were. Finally in '68 he blew the family away by surprising my mom for her birthday with a loaded new T-bird (two door, Wimbeldon white and NO landau...yay...don't like those on the coupes) with the screamin' 429, and then doubled down 6 months later with a used '67 suicide doors landau with the 428 (in Brittany Blue..okay the landau worked on that one) and an exceptionally rich interior. LOVED those cars and as the teenage boy in the house, kept them showroom perfect. My parents drove those cars to the bitter end. I look back fondly on those days.

Back then most cars were available in both hard top and convertible. Nowadays only select sportscars have that option.

I was once told that only Hollywood produced more films in the U.S than Detroit and when I look at all these old commercials and dealer model films, now I see why...

Those cars shown in the commercial are pre production units--hand built.
All 4 of them are missing a common thing cars had back then--and it is done on purpose for appearance!!

What we have here is a dealer information presentation. The idea is to help the dealer sell the automobile. The automobile the dealer will be selling is the Ford automobile. The more Ford automobiles the dealer sells the more money he and the motor company will make.
