This is the OST to Wolverine for the NES! But in my own form of Stereo! Which spreads the sound channels and adds a bit of echo/reverb. These mixes also do not represent true, original, or actual stereo that the NES has, this is just to make the music sound more clear and crisp, and is another way of listening to the greatness of 8Bit music. So enjoy this soundtrack in what I like to call, WiiGuy's 8Bit Stereo!! :D

In honor of Geoff Follin's passing recently, his fantastic Wolverine OST has been Revamped and updated with better quality, updated text, accurate
tracklist and visual background. RIP Geoff Follin and thank you for all your VGM soundtracks ♥ czcams.com/video/KaJLyiCV_EM/video.html
Just happy you still keeping any and all versions of this theme up at all. Been a fan of this since I played it on NES, but always come back to your tracks when I need to hear this theme hit!
Such ridiculously fond memories. If I close my eyes, I am back at eight years old playing this at 6 o'clock at night on a school night.
Same. I remember sitting on the floor of the living room and playing this after school when Mom had to work late nights. I'd watch some cartoons, play some NES, go to bed.
This soundtrack is a masterpiece. It sounds so futuristic even today, proving that NES music can also kick ass like C64 and ZX Spectrum music. This has also nostalgic value since I played this game a lot when I was a kid. Despite of some of its flaws, like claws that hurt you when you use them, I really loved this game.
RIP Geoff Follin, one of my favorite game OSTs ever...
When I was 16 I bought this game just for the music
ITS AMAZING
Follin Brother. It's great ever.
I don't think Geoff Follin knew he was composing NES music when he took this job. Maybe he thought that he was doing some kind of animated movie about Wolverine and wrote music meant for an orchestra, and the arranger just quietly converted the sheets thinking what he didn't know wouldn't hurt him.
...That's the only explanation I can get for this OST, because it is CRAZY ambitious for an NES game!!! My mind is still blown from this!
Man, whatever Geoff Follin was payed during development, it just wasn't enough.
Haha, that would be a funny scenario, but its unlikely as Geoff was involved much with Software Creations and the sound programmer Stephen Ruddy. The Follin brothers just were made to make video game music, Geoff's work on Terminator 2 is another example of how the music was probably made with an orchestra mindset, because that soundtrack is spectacular too!
I would be curious to see how much the guys at Software Creations were paid for there job :P
***** Also, the Follins were most famous for getting the most out of a sound chip.
Nah, they did this for every chip. You should see what they made out of Chronos, for a ZX Spectrum with a SINGLE BEEPER CHIP.
As a musician and composer, this is still one of my favorite soundtracks (along with Silver Surfer), for the NES. It has all these layers.
@@BottomOfTheDumpsterFire Not even a chip xD
THAT TITLE THEME THO, HOLY SHIT
R.I.P. Geoff Follin
We truly lost a legend... 🫡
The title tune's a classic; I particularly appreciate that Follin picked up on Wolverine's Japanese roots and worked it in, which would have been a little obscure circa '91. Gave it some extra class.
4:06 really takes me back to my early childhood. Gives me goosebumps! 10/10
lol me too. im gonna make this into a ringtone
Frankie Poindexter same here buddy feeling nostalgic
game was so-so, soundtrack was 10/10.
mtlhd777 Must be a Singaporean here.Only them and Malaysians use the term So-so.
Помню как записывал эту чудесную музыку на микрофон домашнего магнитофона ШАРП, что бы не было посторонних звуков при записи, старался не дышать в момент записи... эхх как давно это было....
R.I.P. Geoff... this theme has been on my mind for months. What a sad way to find out you're gone now.
I've had the level 1 and 2 songs in my head for over 25 years, and always knew they were from an X-Men game i played as a kid but until now I never knew exactly what game it was. Thank you so much!!
Geoff and tim follin - perfect examples of a exemplary people overlooked. been saying it. if theyare alive get this them to write some damn music for some of these modern games. so this generation can know what truly badass arrangement is like. (AND OVERPAY EM!!!) cuz the soundtrack will sell on itunes etc. easy.
btw i loved the silver surfer intro as well stage 1 most from that game.
i'm typically the kind of purist who prefers the untampered version of everything but I've got to say, I think your arrangement here is very tasteful and shows an real appreciation for the original work. I don't think it's an easy task to get more "oomph" out of an already excellent classic soundtrack like this, so great job!
Rest in peace Geoff Follin. This is probably my favorite of his solo joints.
Speaking of LJN games with great music, Terminator 2 was also pretty fucking great. It had both rockin' beats and ambient spookiness.
Starting at 4:07, absolutely beautiful expressive awesome NES Music...
Title screen theme is absolutely outstanding. I haven't come up with such an amazing tune in SO MUCH TIME.
I used to watch my dad and my uncles beat this game back in the day. I still don't know how they did it. This game was so difficult but they made it look easy.
feeling nostalgic ..good old days ..school days .. n 8 bit 16 bit video games .. thanks for this soundtrack ..
That theme is so good. I used to love ripping music from emulators minus the drum track and cutting them up over hip-hop beats.
best 8bit soundtrack ever. thanks a lot wiiguys
Always loved the sound for this game
on my birthday too dope. i always loved the first BGM at 4 minutes in. its so good. the drums dont sound as complete as Tim's tri-drums but the song is still kick ass.
The game was near impossible with those blind jumps in platforms... but the music, WHAT A MUSIC! I love the music from stage 1... I didn't know until today that it was also for other stages! Geoff Follin, being the brother of Tim, was indeed a terrific composer!
11:47 is so funky!
I can't believe that such an amazing NES soundtrack could make it into an otherwise mediocre mess. Overall, it seems that they were focusing more on presentation than gameplay, as the graphics were good as well (also a big shocker).
Heck yes! Thanks for Upload, this title had awesome music!
This soundtrack makes me think of Cygnus Destroyer every time.
ohh, it's Geoff Follin, that explains a lot
Great music
2019. Love this shit still
Tx bro!!!! U did it!
One tough game..love it!!!
Title screen song is absolutely beautiful. I can't believe this amazing piece got put on this shit pile of a game.
cheesefrommysoul speak for yourself this one nes classic
This was frustrating but now that bad....
i'm sure you designed a better game and forgot to post the link
Awesome stuff.
Holy shit this is nice
No wonder it was stuck on my head...there's 2 main level songs and they switch back and forth
The LJN defender ☺
Matt is cool
Now i know where Dragonforce got their inspiration from!
Camu Tao sampled the first song in his own song, The Moment.
Thanks for this, really.
Great day to Wolverine ✌
We had this game.
yes, they're brothers. and mike follin.
LJN games sucked because of the game play a lot of times. Roger Rabbit and Terminator are usually the ones I like to mention. They also, many times, made their games where the well known characters had the most ridiculous limitations...Yet they did make a few good games. They were also awesome with toys. I remember the Thundercats toys, I had them, and they were fantastic.
This looks like a job for... THE LJN DEFENDER!
The music is the only thing that is any good about this one. I had to unsubscribe to that guy. He has shit taste in games.
Am surprised you haven't uploaded this before
11:34 sounds like the Wolverine's theme from Marvel vs Capcom
I love the video game and the music in it people who don't like the video game that's fine maybe it's just too hard for you but I beat it and enjoy the game thoroughly.
bgm1 pure ingenious
By video cast, I meant the Let's Play with TheST2K.
LordArithon Who framed roger rabbit for nes and gameboy was actually developed by rare ware, yes the guys who would later make such classics as donkey kong country and goldeneye. and the nes terminator was developed by radical entertainment who would later make games like hulk ultimate destruction and prototype.
Thank you. I don't think a lot of people realize is that LJN only published games, they had nothing to do with developing.
Radical also made Simpsons: Hit and Run.
❤️🕹️🎮👾❤️
bad ass
agreed!
is geoff follin brother of the master tim follin ?
Yes
Indeed, it's his older brother.
He's a mathematics teacher nowdays.
this and terminator 2 on nes sound same
Loved BGM 1 and 2. Have you uploaded Tom & Jerry OST?
0:00 xD
What? Are you fucking kidding me?
Both of them? They made BOTH of them??
This is actually pretty nice. Kinda reminds me of silver surfer.
Lalo Villa it’s that composer’s brother. That’s why it sounds so similar
@@doodledangernoodle2517 ah yea I found that out later but thanks for the reply.
whooo ,long time no see gameee
At the time when I was a kid, I didn't know who wolverine was, I made my parents buy the videogame based on the cover lol
.
This is surprisingly smexy.
God I hated and loved this game. I can say I beat it though
Thanks, man! :) I don't like this game, but that music is awesome.
Hese Burger same here ..lol
Why did so many developers of bad games on the nes make such great games?
Software creations made solstice on the nes
Radical entertainment made some of the crash bandicoot games
Rare made donkey Kong country and battletoads
Atlas made the shin megami temsei series.
Radical Entertainment made The Simpsons Hit and Run which was better than all of the Crash games they made.
Answering to the question you have to make some mistakes before getting it right
It is necessary for good progress
Was wondering when you'd get around to this one, since you had such "fond" things to say about it on your video cast playthrough.
Crappy, crappy game. But... dat title screen music... It's on par with Solstice's title music. In fact, they sound somewhat similar.
Wait a minute ... Geoff Follin ... Tim Follin.
Well I'll be damned!
It's LJN, they made horrible games...but at times the music was amazing in their games...like this soundtrack for example. As I'm sitting here typing this, and listening to the music...I'm in holy fuck mode because of how good the music is.
10 years late, but LJN isn't the ones who made the games. They're the ones that published them.
@NelsonWilcox22 hey its never too late to be corrected! Who made the games then? Of course I always heard them blamed for it
@@LordArithon LJN had a number of different developers for the games they published. For this game, Software Creations were the developers. They also developed Silver Surfer, Terminator 2, Pictionary, Incredible Crash Dummies, etc.
@@NelsonWilcox22 thank you for the info. I do appreciate receiving it. I'll change my tune in the future when speaking about them!
@@LordArithon No problem. I thought I'd point that out since a lot of people think LJN are the ones who made the games when they actually didn't.
Flimnstuff dislike this!
11:47 I'm surprised how unexpectedly good this is, but seriously and I think the Angry Video Game Nerd would agree with me, that why is good music in a shitty game?
This soundtrack has a real Codemasters (Dizzy & Micro Machines) or maybe a C64 feel. Great stuff, horrible game though hahaha
The game is awesome, it just gets an unfair bad rep.
The levels offer enough variety yet are pretty balanced, as none is much more difficult than the last one.
Just think about how many action sidescrollers NES games you can swim underwater. Not many.
This is because the physics are complicated to implement and adding hazzards or enemies is a pain in the butt, compare this to the TMNT underwater level and you'll see how good this game is.
And the controls unlike many games of this era made in USA, specially LJN garbage, are top notch, every death is your fault.
Plus you get to see Jubilee, Havok, and Psylocke and fight Sabretooth and Magneto.
*****
Thank You!
Well, the Follin Bros both got their start on the C64.
Shit game, but a very satisfying soundtrack.
too bad the follin brothers also had their music put on shitty games, thats what discouraged them from keep doing videogame music...
