Three years later and still a fantastic review! Thanks for helping me find my first wheel
The quality of review I was looking for.. Thank you : )
Great review I wasted £50 on a cheap 180 degree wheel which I tested for 10 mins and threw in to the side. Bought the TMX what a difference it like driving a real truck or car. My advice to any newbies to racing or truck driving please don't waste money on a really cheap wheel as it will put you off the games.
@S M I E L A X you should look at the logitech g29 I've heard good things about it
This is the best review of this wheel I have seen so far. No joke.
Thanks for taking the time to post this review! Awesome
I know this is an older video but I want to thank you for this. This nudged me to order this wheel. With the after affects of 2020, it's nice to hear for budget minded "you can spend more by spending less initially" and that, ultimately is what sold it for me.
Cheers, man!
been saving up for about a year... i think this is the one
what do you think about it?
@@wntw7935 if it's your first wheel, get it! Or wait till black friday or the holidays and scoop one up.
I'm looking at the thrustmaster leather Edition do you think it's worth the price
@@xNickerishx I have the tmx pro and covered the wheel with bike handlebar tape. Works better than leather!
A year for $180-200??! Jesus....
so many videos about this steering wheel. but this one was most helpful for me and convinced me to finally buy it. thx!
This looks to be the ideal wheel for a desktop racer, nice small footprint, good ffb and 900 degrees.
You will always get people with 5k dd wheels who put these wheels down but this seems to be a great deal.
Just needs a bit of extra love setting up ffb that works to it’s specs and buy some gloves like you said to remove the rubber feel.
Great review mate.
Great review, thanks! I think I'll buy this wheel. It'll give a lot of fun and is more or less future proof.
Excellent review! Lots of insight for someone like me who is new to racing games. A well earned liked and subscribed :)
Excellent review. Liked and subbed.
Thanks for the great review! :)
Thank you !! You really help me to make my choice between the tmx pro and the G920
are you satisfied with tmx pro?
best review so far!
Thats very neat and clean review. Thank you so much dear brother. I bought the wheel and can't wait to try it.
Lmk what u think
Amazing review!!
Dylan Smith thank you!
Great review!! So many New SIM racers now too!! Ordered this wheel before this review, but glad I did. Actually, I watched TLR Limitless review video and he couldn't recommend this wheel/pedal set-up enough. Glad I picked it. Can't wait for it to get here!! 👌
Is the thrustmaster TMX quick release?
thanks! just ordered it! i used to play with the Microsoft xbox 360 wired wheel ( you know the one you can put on your legs haha) definitly going to be a great upgrade and a good start to serious sim racing)
This jus make up my mind for which wheel i should buy for my first setup thnxxx!!. And holy crap the music at 1:04 nearly blew my ears out😂.
Very very helpful! Thank you
I’ve been fucking hooked to hell on sim racing atm and getting my first wheel very soon, but I’d never ever think of how much demand and money is in these products, it’s so sick and probably my favourite type of games and e sport series ever
Great review, Thank you
Good detailed video. Thank you
I got the first one today for Black Friday and it’s awesome and all I need is the clutch
Great review
I ordered a thrustmaster wheel and a tm8a shifter
Video starts at 1:04
Thank me later
Dan Thank you
but he said you should do it later

Jake_77 I know right
Dude, this is such an awesome review! I've been researching for weeks which wheel to buy and I'm new to sim racing so I had no idea what to choose, after this review I'm going to definitely buy the TMX PRO!
👍👍 thanks bud
@@RTAMOTORSPORTS I have already bought it and actually played a lot of Dirt Rally on it, I'll need a shifter now, I guess there's no turning back for my wallet.
Sollid review, thanks to this review I bought the Thrustmaster Tmx Pro with 50 dollar discount, almost same price as Tmx where I live and 50 dollar cheaper than a g920.
Great review. Enjoyed your honesty. Subbed
Thank you!
Good detailed rew.
Great review sir, thinking of upgrading my TMX to a TX but I might just change to after market to rim. Cheers.
Yep...gon' get this
Dope
Cool Can you do a review on the Fanatec wheels? I'm thinking about grabbing that Fanatec Forza Motorsport bundle to upgrade from my g27.
Todd Ison - Changing from G27 to any fanatec will be a great experience...
Even cheapest Fanatec wheel use advance servo motor with belt driven tech. Definitely much realistic forcefeedback feel compare to my g29 i used to have(mechanic toyish forcefeedback feel). Logitech should use belt driven tech instead of old helical gear tech.
Just order mine.cant wait
Tomas Ramirez me too do you have it now
I’m a bit late but I’m definitely getting this.
Thanks bro
Had this wheel for 2 years now, works great still plus if you take the time to set up the ffb properly its great. Make sure to get the better pedals tho!
One thing that's kinda missing from the review while talked about in the opening bit is the comparison to T300/TX. How does the wheel compare to those when it comes to FFB detail, noise, resistance, all that stuff? And how does it compare to wheels like DFGT? Can it be considered an upgrade from such wheels? For example the gear whine seems to be quite prominent in the video, which is something DFGT suffers from quite a lot (as well as quite a lot of resistance to turn).
Any thoughts on this? Thanks.
Amazing review I'm just getting into racing simulation games and I picked this steering wheel. 😎👍
craigjkb How’s it holding up? Any problems?
billfinger I’ve had one for 2 years. No major problems. The only problem was my fault. But the wheel hasnt had any problems. I definitely recommend for this for your first wheel. I used it on project cars and forza horizon and it was amazing.
Riley Thanks.
Just ordered this one and a stand was trying to decide between this and the g29.
Definitely gonna upgrade down the road my goal is the podium DD1
good review!
New sub, great review
This is going on my rig 💯%
Thanks!
I think that steering wheel is the perfect size and beautiful design and I actually like the fact you get alright pedals this time and the force feedback seems slightly better then the tmx like they stepped it up slightly I think it's the best wheel for the price period and its outstanding to the point where I wouldnt spend anymore and I can even keep up with the best of them I dont want anything else I just like getting that drive feel and I want to race good the wheel is perfect size and allows the turn easier on shorter tracks tighter tracks in my opinion it's perfect to me in literally everyway the paddle shifters of course are great
Great review! you really helped me out a lot. I am new to Sim racing and was torn between what to get for my X Box.
The home button appears to be on the right side.
Nice video. Would have been nice to have more detail in the pedal setup. I.e adjusting the pedal stiffness etc
Thanks for the review and comparison.
I have a question. It’s between the tmx pro and tx 458 itialia. This would be my first wheel. I like the overall package of the tmx pro/price at $250.00. The tx is $349.00. But worse pedals and toy like rim. And after replacing those the price is jumping to a better csl elite. So I guess the question is the complete package better on the tmx pro ? Accept for the base.
Thanks again.
Hey man, thanks for the review...have you ever wrapped a wheel to eliminate feeling the screw holes in the back and the sweaty palms?
oO Mr Wight Oo way back when I had my t100 I thought about it but never did it. It's becomes a non issue once your driving.
I'm an avid cyclist and just for shits I wrapped my wheel with the bar tape I use on my bike
.. not only does it feel great in my hands (giggity) it looks bad ass with my car livery, if you've tried it I'm interested in your opinion 👍
You made that intro beat yourself.
Great review ….. thank you , I have been looking at pretty much all makes and models and this looks like an excellent place too start.
Good review fella, its a great wheel for the money. Best budget wheel on the market by a country mile. I bought the t150 for my ps4, yeah there are bettr wheels out there but at a cost. If your on a budget buy it, you wont regret it. The rim does feel cheap, but i use gloves (my winter golf gloves lol!!!). You need the t3pa pedals, as the standard stock pedals are pretty poor (i used a tennis ball on the break pedal lol!!!).
Great review. How thin does a desk need to be to clamp the wheel to it? Sadly I may have to sell my Logitech Driving Force GT because my new desk is slightly too thick.
@The Road will a 6/7 inch desk work?
yes mate. i agree with the author. The thrustmaster wheels are giving the ffb in the most smooth way to your hands, than any other crappy ffb wheels in the market.
cheers bro, even a couple of years later this has been helpful for me 👍
i think its probably still the best budget wheel and pedal set that is compatible with the very latest xBox.
On the Xbox Series X/S too?
@@speedli8162 as far as i know, yes.
how do you adjust the force feedback or is this only possible on pc im using on x box one
Thanks for the review. Too bad you didn't get into detail about the experience of the TMX Pro vs the TS-PC racer that you also displayed. Wondering if it would be necessary for f1 2019.
I always played on controller now I got a Tmx for 100€. It comes tomorrow im very excited
Thanks
hi i am new to the slim racing now what to know if u can help with finding one for a good price or and bundle with shifter and like the video on explaining about the steering wheel
Great review! Although I was here for the talk that starts at 2:00
You think Fantom Graphics can make custom labels for my DSD button boxes?
OhItsThat they sure can
I get this wheel for christmas yey
I bought the TMX nearly a month old now and its a good wheel! But I suggest getting the Pro Or if you already order the TMX get the T3pa/pro pedals, as the pedals feels crap
Im getting thrustmaster tmx pro
Same
Are u happy with tmx after this time? I need a wheel and probably I will buy these.... I need opinions of tmx owners
@@hutchxy thx... I bought a T300 rs gt edition and 0 problems for now... Very nice wheel for simracing.
what the best wheel for drifting? or where can i find info on that?
If you can get over the plastic/rubber wheel... this is the best performing wheel you will ever find for it's price point. I would consider the TMX to be tier 2 of racing wheels.
Would you recommend the tmx pro over the Logitech g920? Because they are similar price right now at Amazon for Germany and I really want to get back into the racing/simulation gaming. I once played the g920 and I didn't liked the brake pedal that much because it was way to stiff for my taste and you couldn't mod it but the leather wheel felt pretty good/pricy
Sold my T300 and regret it. Just ordered the TMX like new for $130! For farming sim and very casual racing. Thanks :)
There is one big question. This Wheel or the Logitech g29 ? I dont know which to choose and need advise.
Hi, great video. I'm thinking of getting this for dirt rally. You mentioned it is not ideal for drifting, does that mean it wouldn't work very well with dirty rally? thanks
breezyamar dirt rally shouldn’t really be too much crazy drifting where you need the wheel to rotate quickly, usually you want to turn the wheel yourself in rally, it will be a great wheel
What a nice review well done :) never owned a wheel But i wanna Start.... just Need to Decide between this and the g29 cause they Are about the Same Price Range now 🤷🏻♂️
ection87 did you decide? I’m in the same position
RTA MOTORSPORTS What gear stick would u get for it
Would you suggest it on a simulation game? Such as ets 2? Or farming simulator?
Great review of the wheel thanks! I was disappointed that you didn't mention the pedal set that comes with it though, there is a diffrent pedal set (2) with the TMX vs the TMX pro (3). I'm wondering if spending the extra on the PRO is worth it.
i am, The TMX pedals dont have a clutch and are plastic
Its defo worth the extra money for the 3 pedal set
which one is better, tmx pro or the tx leather edition?
Pls i know i am a bit late but can i change the wheel to a f1 wheel?
can the shifter be used even with out the clutch pedal?????
Just got the wheel and maybe it takes some getting used to but I'm kinda let down. The "clicking" or clunking when you turn is rather annoying. And since I don't have a whole cockpit system setup yet it moves around my little desk (not the wheels fault, I know). I'm hoping I can tweak some settings in game and get it working better but I'm not too sure. I find myself losing control really easily which actually just reminded me, maybe I should be using Sim steering.
RTO bro I can't decide what I should buy g29 vs this stering wheel, because I scare to buy g29 because I heard from frend that got problem with brake pedal..
Just Got Today
hallo how to fix my tmx pro is stiff to steering
I earler have a wheel logitech g920. I m thinking about this. It worth to buy??
Brake issues. Look it up. There's a reason the G27 is super expensive now. Modern companies don't know how to make anything right anymore.
Believe me dude I was going to get this for my first wheel but luckily I came inot a kittle bit of money and was able to get something better I just went big and was like forget it I know ill want to upgrade if I got anything less hell now that I have 8nm im happy I got it becauae I play around 6nm mabye a little more sometimes because I like that stiffness in the ffb so im happy I got something with more ffb but I think the tmx pro is the best budget setup like no joke 100 percent but I will say to anyone that really wants that immersion the more expensive gear def gives you more immersion idk why but it does and thats another reason why I think people like dd wheels so kuch not just because of there performance but because it gives you a littoe kore realism a little more quality to the feel and quality overall
could you put a styring wheel cover on it? :P
Really appreciate the last 5-10 mins. I just bought a Xbox1 S and want to get into sim but not sure how much I really want to spend. I was going to go with the G920 but I really dig that gated shifter for these Thrustmaster. My only problem is like I said do I want to spend the money on a TX which is 300 then I need to buy pedals which is another 80 then the shifter which is 100 plus. I would be looking in the 4-500 range or get the TMX for 250 and add a shifter 100 then in the 350 range.
G920 sucks mainly cause of the helical gears is not as smooth loud and just plainly outdated technology. belt driven wheels are so much more smoother and better rather than going for the TMX i'd suggest upgrading to the pro or the T300rs
Right now i have a one s and a g920. Next wheel will probably be a tmx pro
I like It
Thank you great review.
No Name thank you for watching!!!
Have you ever heard of anybody setting up a full sim-racing-rig for non-sim games? Stuff akin to Forza Horizon is what I'm getting at.
Anyhoo, great job on the video, may end up getting one once I get some disposable cash. Might get to see how well it works for Street Fighter.
Galvanized Dreamer Forza yes of course... Street fighter lmao never herd that one
I think the story is that some guy actually came to a fighting game tournament and competed with a racing wheel. It's been a joke within the community ever since.
At least, that's what I assume from the little I remember hearing.
sorry, one more question. I can't work out. what is the difference between Thrustmaster TX Racing Wheel Leather Edition with T3PA Pedals for Xbox One & PC & Thrustmaster TMX Pro Force Feedback Racing Wheel For PC & Xbox One they both look the same except price and the TX wheel is leather? can anyone help me?
I just came from a g29 to the TMX PRO, well at the start if you come from a g29 you will feel it is a lot smoother, no noise and in Automobilista it can provide a really good feedback.
The rim is a lot smaller than the g29. When you get used to the T3PA you can totally feel them better than the g29 ones. IMO
As long as the force feedback isnt strong as the g29 it is a good placeholder wheel until you go for the tspc or even a t300.
Yeah TMX/T150 has better FFB than the G29.
RLFTofuKing i dont think so. It is smoother but is lacking of strong forces and low strenght feels almost cant feel them as i said a placeholder
well i used to have a g29 but the t150 has better ffb. let me tell you that. the mixed belt and gear system is so much better than crappy helical gears. Well anyway the reason i went from g29 to t150 because g29 rattled a lot so my neighbours got quite angry, t150 doesnt rattle so im happy with it.
also Thrustmaster has better FFB technology than the old G29 10 year old technology
The tax rim is bigger lol. It’s the same size as t300
i knowiam late thx for the rewiew but can you try buying or finding a cover for the wheel
That wheel was leant to me for the review, I no longer have it. I recommend using racing gloves for example Sparco makes sim racing gloves that are awesome and light.
Tmx with the upgraded pedals - shifter vs g920 with the shifter
Pls help
For me if it's the same price I like the TMX More as you upgrade through the thrustmaster line you can take the upgraded pedals with u
The g920 has more bad review in the shifter and pedals and even the wheel itself, and the tmx is overall a lot better.. I’m getting the tmx for Christmas, it is cheaper (not by much, but still) and better.
@@jayz_fs 😁 I just got the TMX yesterday with stand and everything haven't really tried it out yet but it seems really nice. BTW thanks for your comments
Bro which the good one.. this tmx or t300rs? Im very confused and can u give how much the different between that 2 wheel
What's the difference between original tmx and tmx pro?
Superb review - for me the choice between the TMX and TX wheels comes down to whether the TMX is "good enough" for a beginner. I had some concerns about the cheap pedals on the non-pro TMX. The TMX Pro seems on the surface to be the ideal spec for someone wanting to try sim racing without breaking the bank but reviews seem to be sparse so really glad I found this and credit to the author for taking the time to review this - thank you !
Thank you for watching!!
Thank you for answering my question, I am planing to play Forza Horizon 4, which wheel do you prefer to use? I am totally lost my mind to choose one. Please give me some advice! Again thank you very much!
Sean Xiaofeng Hu are you still looking?
What type of wheelstand do you use?
my first wheel is going to be this!
CR27 GAMING my too with a playseat omg cant wait i can defently play forza like i would drive a real car though ommgg
@@narutouzu4385 hows the wheel treating you so far?? And what playseat set up did you get?
I was looking at this wheel to buy and wanted to know what handbrake you have because I wanted to buy a handbrake for the wheel but didn't find any compatible handbrakes.
So none are "compatible" since I'm on PC I'm just using a USB handbrake from fanatec but it's not like it's plugging directly into the wheelbase itself. Directly to PC
I'm just getting ready to watch this video, I'd really like to ask you to compare these to the CSW V2.5 that's now out. Since these wheels are all in the same kinda realm of each other. It'd be awesome to know the top of the line against the top of the line Logitech and the Fanatec stuff. That's the review I'd be really really excited to see bro.
frank mathis it's in the works ;)
Hey man, is it possible for you to post something on how to hook this thing up even? I mean I've had it for two weeks and I can't even get my computer to recognize the thing. I'm super frustrated, I actually sent Fanatec an email today, I really wish they'd put a CD in with everything with all of the drivers and everything. It's a ton of money and it's sitting here like a racing anchor in my living room. I've tried everything I know how to do. I downloaded the 281 driver from the blog I've opened up the Fanatec thing on my desktop, and it doesn't even show up in there at all. I'm super frustrated. Would be grateful. Thanks man Frank
frank mathis make sure you have hit the red fanatec power button on the base. did u see it calibrate? check the USB port as well
RTA MOTORSPORTS yeah man, I've done everything possible. Fanatec called me this morning. We made a little progress. He said he was gonna have to call me back. Gonna try to do Skype. For whatever reason this is really a difficult process. Mine won't go into pc mode, at least not a hundred percent. It's getting close. But the guy from fanatec is having problems so just think if he's having trouble, this is just a lot to complicated. They've got to make a cd with a load package. Don't you think? I mean this is really really tough to set up. I'm turning 50 years old this month, my generation is just outdated on computer stuff. I've got old knowledge lol, I started out on dos and word perfect and logo. I tried to keep up along the way here, but it's passing me by. But hey I've got a oculus rift lol. So I'm still in the loop a little bit 😀😀😀
Hey, yeah I actually spent almost 3 hours with the guy at Fanatec, there is some malfunction with the motherboard in the wheelbase. The guy was so nice, he tried everything to help me. It was after 11 pm at night where he was. He couldn't believe it was the wheelbase, and neither could I, he apoligized over and over again. He said in his whole career working at Fanatec he'd never seen a problem like this. He made me a RBA and said he's gonna make sure it's priority. He knew how bummed I was. I just spent like 2,500 bucks on all of this stuff. It's sitting there not being able to be used at all. Plus all the hassle to box it up and send it off, go pick up a different one or mine fixed. I spent so many hours thinking I was an idiot that couldn't understand the computer stuff, I was even gonna pay someone to come over and just hook it all up. But it seems there is a hardware issue with the wheelbase to. It was last week working with the xbox. but it wasn't working in real time correctly, so I'm super bummed. Hopefully it's all gonna be ready to go here really soon. Thanks for all the quick responses. You have a new friend Frank
