- I recently saw Miranda Pla’s animatic for the song go tonight from this musical and have been listening to the soundtrack non stop for days. I decided to finally make an animatic myself. This took forever lol.
Go listen to the soundtrack for the mad ones if you havent already. It’s a really good underrated musical that not a lot of people know.

Currently working on redoing this! I’m hoping to have it finished around the year anniversary of when I uploaded this/ year anniversary of this channel. This was the second animatic I ever made (I didn’t upload the first) and I like to think I’ve improved a lot over this last year.

I know nothing about this musical, but from what I gather, 2 girls, maybe in love, were gonna run away but one of them caught cold feet & they argued while possibly driving & the one who was regretting to run away survived, now mourning the loss of the other while having survivor's guilt. Definitely a better love story than Romeo & Juliet.
Funnily enough they aren’t actually in love in the musical, Sam (girl who survives) has a boyfriend. But *I* think they were secretly in love, and it seems to be a pretty common opinion amongst fans. I’m not sure if the romantic undertones were intentional on behalf of the writers or not, but from what I’ve seen they’re pretty supportive do the ship.
As far as the plot goes, It follows high school valedictorian Samantha Brown. Her and her best friend Kelly had dreams of driving away together, but after Kelly is hit and killed by a reckless driver, Sam has to come to terms with her death and decide whether she wants to stay in town and go to college, or drive away like her and Kelly dreamed of.
I have and animated version of Sam’s monologue about Kelly’s death on my channel if you’re interested. I’d suggest watching my more recent remake and not the one I posted back in 2020 though.

Don’t get me wrong BMC is popular but comparing it to Hamilton and Hadestown is pretty bold

(One thing I've noticed is that there are parts where it feels a bit flat? And a change in the angle of the camera would have been great. Overall, it's still brilliant! Great job!)
