However, 3 years later an all-new Land Rover Defender was unveiled the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show. The rebirth of an icon, which is now a million ringgit go-anywhere vehicle. when i heard 1 million of starting price for a Land Rover Defender, i took a deep sip of cold air, it better be special and super tahan lasak tho.
Before moving to MY I was born and brought up in Southern Africa, which is home to a lot of Land and Range Rovers and the perennial rivals Toyota mostly Land Cruiser.
With that being said i disagree with GC saying this is the best vehicle LR has made, The defender and original Range Rover oil leaks aside are the most capable cars they have made followed by the Discovery 1&2.
These new cars maybe capable now but in 10years from now will be redundant as the electronics will fall apart LR engine's are getting better but it's not going to trouble a land Cruiser Patrol or even Mercedes engineers about comparative reliability.
Also he mentioned the car was tested at the Ring, further proving the actual target market. It's Rich and non enthusiasts or commercial users. No body gives a damn about a Hilux going around a race track but it is the best at what it does. This is the same for the defender. The new car was never meant for the real LR enthusiast. It's made for the Beckham's...

For the people complain about 600k tax , it’s for benefit of Malaysians . So that car manufacturers, produce their cars in Malaysia either cbu or ckd, which will help to increase employment opportunities for Malaysians . Why should imported cars get the benefit of selling cars cheaper compared to cars made in Malaysia? It will be easier for these imported cars to profit without much contribution to the Malaysian economy . If you guys are complaining then stick with Malaysian made cars , there are plenty of capable options in the market . I’m sure people who can really afford these imported cars will not care about the taxes . Great production quality autobuzz. And yes please mention & educate about CKD & CBU , imported car taxes in your videos . Or people Will keep complaining .

Don't you know you should never ask a woman about their age and Land Rover about their reliability
Its a great revolution, more luxurious, and very intelligent 4 wheel system. But most of us who need a super Utilitarian Vehicle, shall miss the old defender. Was not very comfortable, was simple hence affordable, no Air suspensions (meaning was dependable) but also very easy to adapt interms of accessories. Shall Miss It.

With 1 Million Ringgit, I can buy a Toyota Fortuner, drive it like a mad man, crash it, and buy another one, and still have money for a Porsche Cayenne.
