Yeah you would think, but either birders don't recognise the species as they might think it's just a domestic mallard or the species only stays at the site where they reach europe and don't migrate any further...
I use my scope very often as it's easier to scan large areas. You can see me using it in other videos also, but i mostly start filming myself when I'm recording a cool species I found.
Yes I did that in the past and I also tested the swarovski atx with the dslr cup, but wasn't impressed by the results. With digiscoping there is a difference in brightness in the center compared to the edges.
i think american black duck is a good bet consedering all of the waterfoul you get in winter/spring

Were you using a scope instead of your camera Jan at the start ?
