I like this video because it gives me an excuse to buy a ColdCard Q even though I have a perfectly functional Mk4

I've just learned about the ability to do 2FA with an SD card. I can't find a single video of anyone doing this, or showing it. I guess it's pretty straight forward but you should do a video on it! Cheers

Super tutorial as always, thank you. The password manager is really cool innovation and the Bip85 password feature is really awesome. I concur that using a usb might not be preferable for a device storing bitcoin so a dedicated Q is desirable to keep the bitcoin air gapped. Most people won't buy a Q just to use it as a password manager but for people wanting to keep the Q air gapped they could just manually type the password into the field by reading from the Q screen. Of course that's friction, but it would still offer a workable solution for critical / financial accounts to maintain an airgapped password.

Start9 has bitwarden self-hosted. Think it’s serving this purpose a bit easier and user friendly. But overall if not self hosted implementation of a password manager, coldcard with bip-85 is a good solution

Please note that you have to have created a seed before you can access this feature. If you try this on a new coldcard without creating a seed first the option for secure notes and passwords will not be shown in the menu.

I'm not seeing the option for the password manager on the MKIV

Great video. I just got one question: On your demo of the desktop i noticed that the password generated is followed by an "ENTER". Couldn't that be an issue, because that "ENTER" will press the default button on the website... We always assume that its the LOGIN button, but could be something else.... Great job!!!!!

I have a question regarding the BTC Sessions video about the password manager on the Coldcard Q hardware wallet.
Is it possible to modify the BIP85-generated password that is created, for example, into a 12/24 word seed phrase?
Also, if I delete the password and then try to open it again using the password index, will I lose the notes I made and only see the generated password?
By the way, I’m incredibly grateful for all the BTC Sessions videos!

Strange how I have USB turned on, my Q can type passwords without a problem from main menu -- "Type Passwords" - however when I set up a password in secure notes, I don't have the "Send Passwords" option under "View Password". I'm using the same firmware version you are 1.2.3

Can it send the password via NFC?

so if you use Bip85 for separate wallet, will is save a different password list, or will it only generate from the base seed?

    • @Solo6R

Correct, you'll have a completely different password manager / set of passwords than the master when using a passphrase.

Great transmission, as always. I appreciate the no-nonsense approach you take to the news and the markets. A lot has changed and that's about it ,but the truth is that I don't even care much about the bull or bear market anymore because Sarah Mackenzie covered me while I'm doing comfortable.20k 30k every week and I'm still counting thanks to her
