Leader’s Weekly Message - COVID-19 Update, Clean Air Day & City of Culture

The Leader of the Council, Councillor Christopher Hammond, gives the latest update on COVID-19 in Southampton this week. This week also saw the public launch of Southampton’s City of Culture bid and online activity to mark International Clean Air Day.
The rate of COVID-19 infection in Southampton is relatively low compared to the England average but cases are rising in the community.
It is critical we do everything we can to keep infection rates low. We must all follow guidance on HANDS, FACE and SPACE to help protect the NHS this winter and save lives.
If you have symptoms it is vital you self isolate along with members of your household and book a test on the NHS website.
