Remembering the sweet times with my granny and her delicious tea cakes after church on Sundays.
Thank for sharing this 🎉
I just love love the sound of sisters laughing! Tea cakes are truly a staple in our family too. 🫶🏽🤗🍽️
Love heirloom family recipes.... Thank you for sharing your video.
Thanks for watching! Glad you’re enjoying them 😊
Nutmeg really does over power the taste I’m with sister but those tea cakes look so delicious, u know everyone bake different
Love your presentation. I'm excited to make these this weekend. I believe these is what my grandma and aunt made for us cousins in the '50s. And I agree about whole nutmeg, the flavor is so much richer when freshly grated.
My Mom made these for us ever weekend to have as a snack after school was out. Only 2 per kid lol that was 10 We never used nutmeg or evaporated milk. Mom used extra vanilla and whole milk.
"I'm gonna rate these a shimmy!" I love it! Thank you for sharing your recipe. I'm so excited to try these TONIGHT! (I will be late for work if I get in the kitchen right now...like I want to!) Tonight, my friend is Teacake Thursday!
Love your family recipe! Actually, being a soft dough, I'm thinking piping bag with star tip, or cookies press!
Sounds great! 😊
Looks yummy 😊
they look good. use the back of your fingers to do the imprint in the tea cakes.
Looking good! I’m so used to seeing and trying out the other tea cake recipes that are in cookie form and many claim to be old fashion recipes! But you seem to have the original tea cake recipe which actually live up to its name! Think I’ll try it! Thank you!
This is the only way I’ve known them to be 😊. You will definitely enjoy them!
Those look absolutely delicious! You and your sister in the background is so funny!🤣 when I was a youngster in Arkansas my grandmother used to make tea cakes they were some of the biggest tea cakes and were very delicious, she use a large cookie sheet, be blessed and I hope y’all have a great holiday season! From the Windy City Chicago.😄✌🏾🙏🏾
P.S and you are right, they are a tea cake not a cookie! They are in between a cookie and a cake when you want something sweet but not bake a whole cake.😄
Grandmothers are the best!! 😊
I tried this recipe and they were so good 😊

Thank you!! You should give them a try 😉
@@goodfoodcookn4693 I have to
These loo so good!
They really are!!!😊
Nutmeg overpower all foods.
In my opinion nutmeg doesn’t overpower flavor easily so I’d cut the nutmeg by 2/3rds, but that’s my taste buds.
Correction nutmeg DOES INDEED OVERPOWER TASTE. CUT THAT NUTMEG DOWN TO 1/3 the amount called for.
I didn't see you add the butter and shortening?
