    Your formula is what a lot of us stylists use along with the same one in level 10 for brighter but only a few drops of GI to avoid over toning . If you really want an icy long lasting one that is very similar- Goldwell colorance demi in 10BS with a touch of 10V will get you very icy. If you like that baby blonde try shades EQ 10VG “baby” it’s perfect for that color and a capful of 10/9GI

    Thank you for sharing! I've been doing a ton of research and also love that combo! I learned that GI is great for adding just a little warmth, which adds a nice brightness to blondes. I'm planning on trying the 10's in these, but I may throw some level 9 depending on what I need to tone/ correct and what's available. I hope more people doing their own hair learn about these toners because they're so gentle on your hair.

Target sells a product for under $10 the brand is Hask and it is Argan oil - a small drop lightly applied - very little so it doesn't get greasy or oily - to the ends and to the part of your hair in the video you mention is dry or has static electricity (what you call "regrowth flyaways" - tiniest amount - will smooth that out so it lays flat and smooth. I’m going to order the same Redken shades Eq toners you used because that’s to tone I want for my highlights. Only thing is I have a lot of different tones in my hair. I have golden and some orange. My natural hair color is a dark brown. Do you think the formulation will work for me? I am planning on lightening my highlights with bleach.

    • @athomewithallison9524
      @athomewithallison9524  Před 2 lety +3

      Thank you! If you have golden and orange tones, you may need something thing with a blue base. If your highlights are a level 9, 09P should work for that. I just want to say be careful with lightening your hair with bleach over existing highlights. It can cause A LOT of damage and breakage. Take it from someone who has made this mistake. If you want to lighten without bleach, try a hi lift blonde. I use ION color from Sally's for that. It's not as harsh and damaging as bleach. I have a video on it if interested! :)

      I use the toners to keep the blonde fresh/not yellow or brassy. I will occasionally bleach my regrowth and then tone, but my hair is fairly light naturally so it's not necessary for me to do that often. It's not as noticeable as it might be on someone with darker hair.

      You're welcome! From what I understand, virgin hair doesn't take to color/toner as well. You should see a little bit of a result, but not as much as the bleached part. I don't usually use blonde toner on my natural hair. However, I have about a level 8-9 blonde naturally and if I put a level 7 toner on my root for a "shadow root" it doesn't work as well compared to the part the was previously dyed. Hope this helps!

      Wow! I'm sorry to hear she won't help you out! I don't think that's fair. So, you always need the processing solution because that is what activates the toner. If your hair isn't as light as mine is here, you may be able to skip the crystal clear, but if it is that light than definitely use it. If you are going for more of an icy look do equal parts 9v and 9p (and crystal clear if needed). Basically exactly what I did, just leave out the 9GI. Hope this helps! Good luck! :)

      My whole head (except for a small shadow root) was pretty much bleached awhile before I did this video. I just tone to eliminate any yellow/brassy tones.
