How Strong is the Grand Inquisitor? (fight analysis)

- After the release of Tales of the Empire some people are claiming the Grand Inquisitor is stronger than Anakin during season 5 of the clone wars. Is this true? Find out my opinion in this video, and May the fourth be with you!

One theory I have heard on Barriss's accelerated ageing is that her work as a healer is actually draining her. In TROS, Rey mentions that the act of force healing has her transfering a part of her life force to heal someone else. With Barriss being called The Healer, it's possible she's been using the power on a frequent basis and draining her own life to heal others.

In the Vader 2017 comics The Grand Inquisitor duels Vader just a day after he got put in his suit yet the man still got his ass handed to him by Vader with the Sith admitting that he was even toying with him. Vader’s fighting prowess during this time would likely still be Inferior to Anakin’s since the writer for the comic Charles Soule admits that Vader was still adjusting to his suit at the time.
I mean yeah, the instant Vader got the suit he surpassed pre suit Vader, who far surpassed peak anakin. Grand inquisitor is stated in his first showing as equal to ventress. So he would beat grevious (as ventress practically fodderized him, and while yes they were on dathomere, fortress inquisitorius is on one of the strongest dark side nexuses as well, so on equal ground they are so)

@@Eric6761 the comic where he meets the grand inquisitor starts off with him repairing his armour following his duel with master Kirak Infil’a which was shown in the comics taking place the same day he was put in the suit. At best he would’ve meet the inquisitor just a day or two later.

With the whole two lightsabers thing, I don’t think they necessarily make you more powerful, as there’s explanations for each time it’s used. With the Dooku Vs Anakin fight, Obi Wan knew Anakin was gonna lose, so he might have thought that using a more chaotic and overwhelming style such as Jar’Kai gave him a better chance at overwhelming a Makashi duelist like Dooku. As another example, in the Obi Wan VS Maul and Savage fight, dual wielding was actually more practical, as he was using pure Soresu, and therefore having an extra weapon to split 50% of defence between is practical. Although its legends, we know that using multiple blades helped in Soresu, which is why Bane instructed Zannah to use a saberstaff. But overall, I don’t think dual wielding has an inherent advantage in all situations.
One thing that should be mentioned for TotE was the Dooku upscale.
The two nightsisters that go with Ventress to kill Dooku were stated to be the best in the clan. That clan we now know to include Morgans mother who can contend with GG for a time and only overcame with trickery
This means S3 Dooku can take on two S3 GG tier people + Ventress while poisoned and win.
Really puts into perspective the quotes of Dookus powers "far suprassing" Savage and Ventress together.

I agree with the Dooku upscale, however, I think it's wrong to say Grievous only overcame her by trickery.
He was clearly playing with her. He could have killed her easily when he pinned her with his foot, but he chose to throw her and SLOWLY creep up on her so she could recover. He only used his third blade because he wanted to just end it.
She's at least 1 tier below that Grievous.
The Grand Inquisitor had mastered all forms and he used this to his asvantage to beat others. Thats how he was able to just toy with Barris
The Grand inquisitpr lost to ESB Luke who is basically an unskilled version of Ep 2 Anakin.

Let’s go through this
- Bariss was in prison for 6 months. We know this from the timeline given of the Outer Rim sieges
- Bariss against Anakin is full blown dark side “these blades suits me”. Just a flash of that Bariss made the GI bleed.
- Bariss remains conflicted during her time as an Inq. So GIs lock quotes don’t apply.
GI remains locked by TPM Maul.
Yeah, Bariss also gets her ass bested by TPM Maul and is JFO Cal victim.
- She was in prison but for sure she grown in power as the only thing she cpuld do is meditate.
- She wasn't full DS and when she meant that those blades suits her mean not that she has chosen DS as it wasn't her Point but that color red is anti Jedi color
- GI does apple and her being conflicted still makes her weak as fuck

@@DarthNox66 no, savage when training with ventress was stated on par with the phantom menace maul, and was getting thrashed by her, it’s only as he continues to grow that he could overpower her, and made dooku afraid.

Hell no, GI if way below GI level. He beated better version of Grevious (Ravis) neged 9 Sister, and ahe wasn't weak either, beated or almost beated Dagan Gera, one of the finest Jedi during HR Era and won without any DS amp
I think light side Cak would have trouble with him, at least at the beginning of the game, but I think dark side Cal would probably easily win.
Cal beat 9th sister with ease, beat Dagan Gera which is a Master of the high republic (with some help of Bode) and beat Bode

Can you please comment something on the power level of Baylan Skoll it looks like he was supposed to be a power challange for Ahsoka he even defeated her few times but due to Bad Choreography he seems slow and sloppy. My friend consider him untrained and weak. Where would you place him. And do you think Ahsoka (prime) is more powerful then Rots Kenobi. Thanks ✌️
He is definitely on the same level as Ahsoka. I think Prime Ahsoka vs ROTS Kenobi is a close fight that could be argued either way. If you think Kenobi gets better over the course of the movie to the point he is better than Dooku, I think Kenobi wins.

As far as I recall the grand inquisitor is stated equal to ventress, so stronger than grevious (who ventress fodderized) however barriss had 2 lightsabers against anakin, which amps force users more, and only one against the grand inquisitor. Anakin was also trying to capture her to clear ahsokas name, and had younglings around, so wasn’t going all out.
Yeah it was stated by Filoni but he said the Grand Inquisitor would probably be a little weaker than Ventress and said it was only his opinion.

Either lower in the same tier or one tier under him. However Vader arguably gets a good deal stronger, so a prime Vader could be two tiers above her.

Prime Barriss is probably stronger, but the Grand Inquisitor would probably beat Barriss from the clone wars.
I mean let’s be real, QI is nowhere close to S5 Anakin. Yes, he was stronger than all other inquisitors, but comparing him to Anakin is crazy. He EASILY lost to a very new to his suit Vader who was very much stronger than a new suit Vaders. He also lost to a jedi just a while after that. He also got beat by ESB Luke, and S1 Rebels Kanan who hasn’t properly trained in like 15 years where he was still a padawan. NOT TO MENTION DOOKU
Yeah the inquisitors are really quite weak. Even the ones that were full jedi knights previously actually became weaker. They were not that well trained and as you talk about in this video they lack conviction. They are not sith despite their red blades. I think only the Grand inquisitor was given a decent level of training by Vader and I mean he still eventually lost Kanan jarrus who is a mid level fighter who admittedly has that weird win over Maul (I wouldnt consider Kanan anywhere close to Maul's level I think that was a 1 off amp). I doubt the entire Inquisitorius could take on Maul and win tbh. But yeah Barrus is above the Grand Inquisitor. Ahsoka and Maul who are around even by Rebels are way above the Grand inquisitor and Anakin/Vader is so far out of sight for the Grand Inquisitor he may as well be on another planet.

Okay, what I don't get is like. People are saying the Inquisitor is anakins level, but anakin is literally the inquisitors trainer. How would that make sense
“Vader” is his trainer, according to George’s Novels Vader is actually stronger than Anakin, there was even that implication in the Ahsoka Show.

Agreed. I really don’t see GI doing as well against Dooku as Anakin did. Though if AOTC Anakin did something stupid there is a chance he could lose.
Grand Inquisitor at his peak is around the level of Luke just after ESB since he actually duelled Luke during that time, with Luke eventually gaining the upper hand after a well fought fight.
(If you’re wondering how he was alive to do that, Vader confined his spirit to a Jedi outpost leaving him in a state of limbo)
