It’s so beautiful how they both have changed so much since they last saw each other, especially Rick, but their feelings are still there, stronger than ever. Truly love is not love which alters when it alteration finds.
She loved Lazlo's commitment to the cause, not Lazlo the man. She more or less said so. It was Rick she truly loved in the greatest love story ever told the right guy didn't get the girl.
It is a great love story mixed in with a heroic quality admits dangerous times....this movie did great job of hiding the fact that Humphrey Bogart was SHORTER than Ingrid Bergman in terms of physical height....and as everyone knows Ingrid Bergman was high maintenance in real life
@@MadammeMoneypenny I do agree will you that it is a great love story but it is hardly the greatest love story....i tend to think that "gone with the wind" was the story between Rhett Butler and Scarlett O'Hara...is the classic story of unrequited love lost and found during tragic times...i also think the " great Gatsby" the story of also unrequited love Gatsby and daisy is also good, too. But maybe we are both wrong maybe just may be it is William Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet" is the all time greatest love story ever.
She is the perfect actress for this part obviously. How could any man ever leave her. Ingrid Bergman, an earthbound angel.
and he did what was best for her all the way, from that very moment he knew what he was going to do, because that is what rick does.

We’ll always have Paris ❤
“I wish I didn’t love you so much”

This sounds familiar
True but I like to think after the war, Ilsa grew to truly love Laszlo and they were happy.
