Viele haben den Leopold Brandmeyer vom " Weissen Rössl " gespielt. Keiner so gut wie der wunderbare Peter Alexander. Sowohl im Film (1960) und zweimal auf der Bühne
1971 mit Ingeborg Hallstein und
1979 mit Lucia Popp.
Großartiger Peter Alexander. Er war der wirklich der Größte in seiner Zunft.
Ihn gibt's nur einmal.

Ja, er war meiner Meinung nach der beste Leopold. Ich liebe ihn im Film von 1960 mit Waltraut Haas und in der Gesamtaufnahme von 1971 mit Ingeborg Hallstein und Erika Köth.

Ja P.Alexander war schon einzigartig , den gabs nur einmal keiner konnte ihn kopieren.
Du meinst es gab keinen besseren in diesr Rolle, denke ich auch. Aber welche anderen kennst Du denn noch die diese Rolle spielten und einen prominenten Namen hatten ?
Willy Hofmann war einer der größten Tenor-Buffos, aber ich finde Peter Alexander in dieser Rolle viel besser. Walter Müller konnte sich im Gesang nicht mit ihm messen. Der Leopold in der Mörbisch-Aufführung war einfach schrecklich. Und es gibt noch andere Aufnahmen und Verfilmungen, die nicht der Rede wert sind.

Meine Mutter wies mich immer auf den "Silberblick" von Ingeborg Hallstein hin. Eine wunderschöne Sängerin mit einem verwirrenden Blick ... und dem wunderbaren Koloratursopran und em rrrrolenden RRRR - jetzt ist sie 88!
Fast alle klassischen deutschen und österreichischen Sänger (die ich gehört habe) singen mit einem rollenden R.

Mein Opa hat immer gesagt, das Peter Alexander ein richtiger Star war. Ich lachte, ja, ja, du sollst Led Zeppelin hoeren. Aber heute, finde ich Opa’s musique viel besser als das langweilige rock und roll!
This is indeed a gem Megadim! While the other female singers are no less, I felt Peter Alexander somehow has the best chemistry and complementarity with Frau Hallstein! Also visually they are quite appealing as a singing couple. Frau Hallstein is very beautiful, and Peter looks always like the ideal gentleman. Please keep uploading great clips like these!

Was Unterhaltungsshows angeht stimme ich Dir zu das ist absolut qualitativ nicht damit zu vergleichen - es fehlen auch die Künstler von Format.Auch die vielen Quizshows ganz fürchterlich in meinen Augen.
Aber das alles nur Mist ist was bei ARD/ZDF und deren Spartensendern gezeigt wird , oder bei ARTE,3 Sat, Phönix da kann Die wirklich nicht beipflichten,Gerda.
@@bobinobaker Stimmt! ARTE bringt oft auch ältere Formate wieder ans Tageslicht. Die ARTE Mediathek ist wirklich empfehlenswert.
Ja, es war unser Zeit , unser Peter Alexander wir waren alle so verliebt in unser Jugend Zeit ❤️ Und heute im Jahr 2023 in Texas, USA meine Liebe für einen wunderschönen Mann der mich begleitet hat seit 1970 Ist zu diesem Jahr noch mit uns. Und bitte vergisst ihn nie. Lass uns weiterhin seine Musik und Filme hören und sehen……in der USA …,..Texas 2023

Many thanks for blessing us with this precious video of Ingeborg performing songs from Im weißen Rößl. The video is so long, and features so many songs, that it tells the most important parts of the story in the operetta. That fact, combined with the viewer's familiarity with the operetta, results in an effective finale when the happy ending is performed.
Glad you enjoyed it. I know that Im weißen Rößl is popular in Germany, and was a huge international success in its time. Whether it is well known today in other parts of the world, I am not sure. In any case, I think it deserves to be better known, with all those wonderful melodies and delightful songs. A full stage performance can be very impressive. There is a wonderful studio recording by Peter Alexander, Ingeborg Hallstein, Erika Köth and Rudolf Schock from 1971, but unfortunately CZcams does not allow me to share that.
@@megadim713 Andre Rieu and the Johann Strauss Orchestra have done their best to make it known around the world, however the best performances are from Austria and Germany. I think I have come across 2. Not very recent-one from a lakeside stage, very popular venue But for the life of me I cannot remember its name :-( Am waiting what other treasures you can find. Operette appears to be dead one can only treasure the versions from 20th Century I do not like the modenised versions. Been watching very, very old films and a few stage productions from Hungary. Thanks for looking after the few of us who still love operette.
The lakeside stage -- I guess you are referring to Seefestspiele Mörbisch? I've seen their 2008 performance of Im weißen Rößl, it is very good overall. Great acting, staging, costumes and dances. Unfortunately the singing of the leading characters (Leopold and Josepha) was woefully inadequate, sounding rather amateurish to my ears. Alexander and Hallstein sang this infinitely better. I also like old operetta productions better than modernised ones. I have many more old operetta films. Please subscribe and be notified of my new videos, and share them with your friends! Thank you.
@@anitaapsitis262 I like the 1935 film version with Hermann Thimig more than I like any other film version. It is available from Rare Films and More.
I haven't seen that one yet, but I read that since it was produced in the Nazi era, Jewish music had to be removed and Jewish lyrics rewritten. Thus Bruno Granichstaedten’s music to the song ‘Zuschau’n kann i net’ was omitted, and Robert Gilbert’s lyrics were altered. In fact, one of the factors contributing to the demise of operetta was the rise of the Nazi regime, as most of the greatest composers, librettists and singers of operetta at that time were Jewish.
Thank you for this posting. I have seen various youtube postings of Im Weissen Rossl, and have an (expensive) DVD of a Morbisch production. But from this video I now know how the roles of Leopold and Josefa should be sung. (In the Morbisch production the man playing Leopold was poor. Josefa was relatively better, but the role demands a topclass operatic soprano such as Hallstein.)
The Mörbisch production was quite good overall, in my opinion, but I agree that it was marred by the awful singing of Leopold and Josepha. It is hard to find good operetta singers nowadays. Btw, Alexander, Hallstein and Köth made an almost complete recording of the work in 1971, available on CD.
@@megadim713 Thank you for your very kind reply. I agree that overall the Morbisch production was overall quite good. It is saved by the excellent performances of all the other singers.
Josepha does not require an operatic soprano. Gretl Schörg, for instance, was a good operetta singer but no opera singer. She performed the role very well. Opera singers, on the other hand, often fail in operetta roles, as operettas require a different style, as well as great acting skills and clear diction. Singers that excel in both opera and operetta are very rare.
Loving your channel! Such a great selection of clips. By the way, do you know if she has ever sung below the low G? I know of two instances of her doing the G3 (Minute Waltz and Warum soll eine Frau), but never heard her sing below that.
