  • Preikestolen, Pulpit Rock, Norway, One of the Worlds most Spectacular View points according to CNN GO and Lonely Planet. Hiking the ledge of the most Iconic landmark and views in Norway and Scandinavia. Raised 604m/1982ft from the water of Lysefjord in Ryfylke, Rogaland it is one of the most spectacular sights in Norway, if not the world. To get to the trailhead I needed to the drive through the Ryfast tunnel, the worlds longest and deepest sub sea tunnel. I have included a 2 minute Time Warp video of the tunnel drive in the video. Filmed in 5k on GoPro Hero 9.

I had an amazing hike to Norways most iconic landmark, the Pulpit Rock, Preikestolen, earlier this month. Preikestolen is a “free standing” ledge/plateau leaning out over the Lysefjord, in Rogaland, with a 1982 ft straight drop into the fjord, offering incredible and gut wrenching views of the fjord below and surrounding mountains. Its a classic destination and I had the most wonderful weather to get the most out of it and filmed it all in 5k resolution. As a bonus I got to drive the deepest and longest sub sea tunnel to get to the trailhead. Enjoy!!

The hike to the rock was just as spectacular as the rock itself. Amazing that you were able to capture footage with very few people around. Every video I've seen of the rock shows hundreds of people milling about on top of the rock. Just gorgeous views 360 degrees! Love the music as well as it sets a tone for the visuals. The sea tunnel was impressive as well. Thanks for sharing Jarl.

What an awesome video. Thanks so much for this. I will be there in July 2021 and I really hope that we can travel to Norway due to the Covid situation then. I have to say that I am a little bit afraid that this tour might be too difficult for us "newbie hikers" but it is still one of my childhood dreams to stand up there. Stay safe!
