People go because it's extremely cheap and has a Saudi twist to fried chicken. You have to get their wrap (they call it a sandwich on the menu) with spicy chicken. It has garlic sauce, pickles, and boneless chicken where you can literally see the spices embedded inside the chicken itself because they are the only place that injects the meat with marinade. When I lived in Saudi it costed 3 riyals (~75 cents), 2 would easily fill you up. Now it might cost more since inflation has been insane the last couple of years since I left

I've been in Saudia Arabia for over 17 years, and I tell ya, I've never seen Al Baik that ISN'T crowded with desperate people. The worst time when Al Baik become very crowded was in 2020. It was soo long and full of people, that police has to be there to check and control the crowd.
Edit: I love how he ordered the most basic dish (and mind you, still delicious) but didn't ordered it spicy and didn't buy the nuggets. Disappointed.

i was an american citizen born abroad. i lived in saudi arabia for 5 years. and i’ll say in general, fried chicken just tasted better over there, no matter the restaurant. i’d say it’s large part on how they slaughter and treat the animals. it has to be halaal and in many ways, the prep process for slaughtered animals was cleaner. a lot of americans who spent a considerable amount of time in the middle east and the u.s. tend to think the same. their fried chicken is just better, it’s hard to explain specifically why it tastes better

I live in the east side of Saudi Arabia in Dammam and we didn't have Albaik until like 2 years ago (my friends used to go crazy when they went to the west side to eat from it, they really made me feel like it's the best thing ever), my first time trying it I was disappointed, it's kinda overrated, the good thing about it is the prices they're mad cheap but the most of the menu items are just not that good. The "Big Baik" sandwich is good tho, it's like a giant juicy chicken brick that would keep you full for a whole day. But yeah i'd rather have a burger or a shawarma from a local restaurant or something like that.
