  • Stump removal is never fun. Using a reciprocating saw makes it easier! In this video I take you to my backyard where I have my garden straw-bales near the back fence. I need to get rid of a few stumps and decided to try a method I saw on CZcams. Take a look and see how it works.

    That was great work. We dug up some forsythia bushes at a place I once lived and I remember how difficult it was. The trunks weren't nearly as big as what you were taking out today. It took us all day to get two out of the ground. Wish I'd had a reciprocating saw them..lol

    A reciprocating saw is a handy dandy tool that was originally invented by or for plumbers to access pipes in tight spots. I've never needed one but a leaf blower has saved me a bundle of time and effort with the ordinarily tedious task of raking. Thank goodness for electricity to power many inventions that eliminated so.much strenuous manual labor.

    Very helpful video. We need to remove a bush and the stump that is growing in a corner behind a fence gate and next to the sprinkler controllers. I know I can't call a stump removal service because they won't be able to get one of those big machines in there. People around here use chain saws but those things scare me. I once saw a tree trimmer do serious damage to his hand when a chain saw slipped. I knew there must be another way.

    Really nice job on the quality of video. The subject matter of the video is quite simple, I would think it would be self evident and not require a video effort, but apparently many people need 'hand holding' for even the most basic things.

    • @KenClick
      @KenClick  Před 2 měsíci +2

      I do not see how plunging a reciprocating saw blade into the ground is self-evident. The saw was not designed for that purpose. No need to criticize others for wanting to learn something.

    Doing this eats up your blades, I've never seen such blunt ones before I tried cutting some roots with them! It works great though, and compared to other solutions for removing small stumps it is still pretty economical, even if a blade only lasts a stump or two.

    WE just removed 4 annoying bushes that kept bee hives year after year so we had to try to eliminate 2 problems, but now we have to get the stumps out and so this came just in time. I think my husband bought some stump away, but this is great. What do you do with the soil and dirt when you take plants and stumps out? Does anyone re use the dirt to plant something new? We are new to this, and I feel like it's a waste to throw it away, but not sure what to do with it.

    • @KenClick
