    If you’re looking into getting a compact box speaker either for your man cave or for entertaining with… then chances are the Sony XP500 and JBL Partybox 110 are the first options that come to mind. Now even though the Sony XP500 is decent in its own right, performance wise the Partybox 110 simply just blows the XP500 right out of the water. But if you’re still trying to choose between either of these two speakers then keep watching.

    I’ve gotta be honest I like JBL’s treble boost on both their party speakers and their portable speakers, just makes the audio more crisp at the expense of a little overshadowing a little bit of the mids and bass. JBL definitely sounds better IMO

    I tested both personally have one. I can say when it comes to bass JBL wins but not in a large margin but what Sony offers is better mids which for my personal taste i like Vocals to be more forward rather than back. Also in clarity wise Sony wins. If sound quality is what you want go with Sony.

    JBL just continue to make a great speaker even better. I sold my 300 to get the 100 due to the 100 having better sound quality. The JBL shows better low frequency response on the spectrum analyzer alongside a bit of boosted high end frequencies. The Sony has a tiny bit less low frequency response and a cutoff at the high end. Also the upper bass response on the Sony is higher than the JBL which results in a more muffled sound on the Sony. TLDR; The JBL is the best choice. 😉

    JBL speakers don't have a customizable EQ. Sony speakers do. Out of the box Sony speakers sound balanced, but if you turn up the treble in the music center app then the Sony sounds like the JBL with crisper highs. Personally, I like being able to turn the EQ myself. You can even turn the bass up on the EQ settings as well in the sony and even the mids. The Sony is customizable for different music types where as the JBL isn't. Sony should turn the treble right out of the box to sound better in these youtube video comparisons.

    I went to best buy yesterday to try these out. The Sony the have it set so it can play at it's full potential. The JBL they have it set so it only plays at like half potential. So I didn't get to experience the jbl to its fullest. Maybe they are trying to push the Sony more.

    Re: JBL partybox 110 audio out
    If you wired the partybox 110's 'audio out' to Boombox2/xtreme3 'audio in', then you can 'partyboost' with other JBL's smaller speaker, right?

    • @MB2kbps
      @MB2kbps Před 2 lety

      I tried doing that with my Flip 4 and no luck. Same with my LG OK99. Havent tried with xtreme/boombox tho but people say it works with those
