I remember when I became trusted user. I was drinking in VR one night and a good friend I haven't seen in like 3 months invited me and was playing a game in there. I played a few rounds with them and one of their friends that was trusted rank added me and that gave me my trusted rank. I joked around with my friends saying goofy stuff like "Sorry, I can't talk to you. I'm a trusted user now." I don't think I'll ever act like the stereotypical trusted user. I enjoy teaching people the ropes and helping new people.
As a visitor who played for almost 30 hours,i don't care too much about my rank,i'm having fun in the differents worlds i like,some people give me attention because of some interesting avatar or for just having a lil talk with me,it's so fun to have a collection of favorited avatars
I've found it really just comes down to these steps:
Playtime, number of friends, making VRChat account, upload avatars and worlds, buy VRC+.
I was hard stuck User rank for the longest time but ranked up instantly to known as soon as I migrated my steam account to a VRChat account, and I ranked up from known to trusted as soon as I uploaded an avatar.
I used to be an obnoxious kid on VRChat, into brushes, no no square. I still watch The Boys. And i’ve been on for 3 years and 1100 hours as i’m typing this and i’m having a great time! I mirror dwell and sleep in vr XD I became a trusted user like 6 months ago. I uploaded an avatar template, not to rank up, but to learn, i’m still learning XD and for worlds as well! VRChat truly helped me with social skills, it really feels like a a escape

Fun fact I’ve been playing since mid April this year. I have several friends I know how to use the game. I know how to change my avatar, how to go into different worlds, how to communicate properly, yet, I’m still a visitor.
Quick rank up guide to Trusted user, Upload a world or 2, Upload at least 3 avatars, friend request random people (you only need like 30 friends), play the game around 300-500 hours (12-20 days straight) If you really don't want to do anything, go in desktop, set up a script that makes you run and another script that turns your mouse constantly to left or right and let its spin around while AFK.

Ok I have to comment on this. I been playing vr chat since Dec. 20 2017. Back then it was easy with no rank and only a friend and online symbol above your name. Of course you had the Uganda Knuckles to keep you company every world you went to :) I say in 2019 or 2020 they had the ranking system here and used it to moderate worlds like those straight Mods now in worlds. Back in 2017 and 2018 vr chat was more like the wild west and fun to play. It took me to about 2300 hours of play time to get to the trusted user rank but word of advice us trusted users don't really have that much more power than a new user cause they (vr chat) has given full power to the MODS that they choose! To rank up is a math algorithm they put in the game which measures time, friends list, world making or avatar making.
I've got like 60 hours and many trusted friends and I'm still at user lol, I also have a vrc account and the early adopter badge so idk, maybe I'm just not on public worlds enough or something ig
Then again my time isnt consistent, I go on to hang out, thats about it
I have been playing VRChat since Late 2021. For about 9 months I have been a Known User. I have over 6200+ hours in the game and about 974 friends. I play VRChat everyday and I still cannot get Trusted User. I even merged my account, which did nothing. I am now lost.
So if i become a trusted player does that mean i dont have to keep clicking random people to show their avatars an it will do it automatically for me? Cus everybodys avatars are always on fallback an ive tried everything
I havent played vrchat much,im still on new user but ive modelled and uploaded a few avatars myself,im just waiting for a rank up because i want to make my avatar world public.

The only rank i care about is new user when i can use a custom model as i want to use my own avatar when learning how to dance and use it for my content. Personally i have severe social anxiety and always did when i was a kid so i don't care for the social aspect, so i suppose i will just Mirror gaze to get new user rank and after that go into a private world or home world or whatever it is called
Maybe if i get good enough i will go to the dance worlds just to show off
I’ve been playing vrc for several months now and I’m still a new user, I’ve never been kicked, never blocked (as far as I know) and have 50+ friends what am I actually doing wrong?
I randomly get kicked for no reason, Does this impact my rank still

i have over 60 hours of playtime and several friends but the game won’t give me the user rank
im new to vr and want to be able to create instances. but i dont know how to kick toxic kids out of my instance. do i need a higher rank?
New update made it so that only Trusted users can see, vote, and start vote kicks.
However, if you're the owner of the instance then you can scroll down on your menu to kick or instance mute a player.
I just bought a headset, it's supposed to be in Friday. Quest 2 even. This is going to be a long ride.
you can become new user by buying vrchat + also you should worry about ranks back in the old vrchat days we did not have ranks.
