Thank you so much for this recipe❣️ I married a Texan and I'm from California. He says I came from a foreign country and I tell him, you came from a foreign country❣️ Sometimes people think I have a southern accent, and I say, oh no his accent rubbed off on me❣️I love Texas❣️ He lives in Calif. with my side of the family, and you can take the boy out of Texas, but you can't take Texas out of the boy that's for sure, and we wouldn't have it any other way❣️🙏💞
When my Mom was alive and had hip replacement surgery, and was told to not do the steps yet ( she was 79) I actually caught her sneaking downstairs to get a second helping of my corn pudding! So I fussed a little bit and got her back upstairs and took her her a LARGE serving of this dish🤣....I miss her soooo much😘 this video brought back a lot of great memories; guess I'll have to make some for my grandchildren thanks for Sharing 👍🏽
A friend makes this. She calls it CORN THANG..My husband is in a care home so I am alone. I was going to have a frozen Turkey dinner, but my wonderful neighbor brought me a turkey dinner with all the trimmings...God Bless you and Freda, and God Bless good people...😊
Happy Thanksgiving Mr. & Mrs. Foreman, & Villa residents. Mr. Foreman you are very kind to prepare a side dish to share. So glad you have so many nice neighbors at The Villas.🌻
You are a man after my own heart. :) Here in my locale we make our own cornmeal, process our own corn from the current summer's harvest, raise our own chickens for eggs, barter for fresh milk, and pretty much everything else in that recipe.
Looks good. Thanks for the recipe. I left my comfort zone in Godley yesterday & drove to Plano, my 2 oldest daughters & their families, all live in Plano. My oldest daughter has a big house & can fit everyone. All 4 of my kids & all 5 grandbabies were there. Very loud & chaotic. Wouldn't have it any other way. Glad y'all had a good thanksgiving. It's all about being with loved ones & being thankful.
Looks yummy! Food and friends! Warms the heart and fills the stomach! 🥧. WHAT A BEAUTIFUL PLATE OF FOOD! “God bless America! God bless Texas! God bless the ladies who made the food! And God bless you!”
You just made Florida corn casserole, not Texas!! lol Each state claims it, but it actually is a Pennsylvania Dutch dish that they call corn pudding. It is delicious. My daughter in law made it yesterday & I have leftovers to enjoy today!! I really enjoy your videos & appreciate your humor, kindness, & the memories you share with us. God bless you & your beautiful bride..Love & prayers
It's great to see you get a nice thanksgiving dinner and that you and friends contributed to make it all come together. It looks delicious and I alway like the corn casserole, but I'm also like you and dressing is my favorite. I hope you have a bunch more great holidays loved your video.
Jim, I am not much of a corn person but this casserole looks great. Happy Thanksgiving to you, your wife, family and friends. I am divorced and live a ways from my children. About 3pm someone knocked on the door. It was a man and women delivering meals and desserts. I asked who sponsored this and they said the churches of Azle, Texas. It was delicious and gave me two meals. I was so grateful for the food. God bless!
Mr. and Mrs. Foreman, thank you for this wonderful recipe! Just what I needed to complete our Thanksgiving meal🌠. I know my family is going to love it 🥰. Thank you and have a blessed Thanksgiving.
Jim, we learned in the Scouts that the weevils add meat protein to the meal. :) I was in the Scouts in the 80s. I think the corn meal in the KP Box was from the early 70s. Great job on the wonderful casserole, Texas style. God Bless Y'all!!!
Loved this... Thanks so much for your time & efforts. Appreciate you sharing your Thanksgiving w/ all of us! Giggled when you mentioned wanting to dig in right when it was done... was RIGHT there with ya'! I don't know how you had the self-control to wait until supper, but looks delicious!!! :) PS: WOW, haven't seen those since my childhood & didn't even remember until seeing it.... your salt shaker (tupperware?) took me right back to my childhood & the table it was always on, at Nana's!!!!
Such a great treat, I love your videos. You're such a sweet and kind hearted soul, it's very apparent. Thank you for this recipe, and thank you for taking the time to teach us how to make it. Happy Thanksgiving!
Thank you for sharing a part of your day with us. Happy Thanksgiving to you, your wife, and, all the wonderful people at the Villa. My neighbor shared that recipe with me. It is so yummy!
If it helps ya, I put my Jiffy mix in the freezer, in thaw it Out The jiffy mix is just fine , that will keep Thoes little critters out of it I, do the same for my flour.great tojob I'm going to try that.Have a fantastic day, and God bless, you.
That looks great! I'll bet it'd be good with a can of wolf brand chili and shredded cheese on top. Thanks for sharing, Jim. Happy Thanksgiving to you and Freda!
Bet it would be great, reminds me of a John Wayne breakfast czcams.com/video/2BPF5EB_vvc/video.html Something else along that like is pretty darn good, it's called Cowboy Posole, combine a can of Wolf Brand Chili and a can of hominy (drained) Easy to make in any sort of pan over a campfire.
That squish was a real challenge to my taste buds. But, when you added the Muffin mix, ... it all played out. I am sure it is good, and I will try this.
Thanks for the nice comment. BTW, Freda and will have been married 65 years come next September and while we had an occasional disagreement, we have never yelled at one another or called the other one a bad name. Also, over the past about 20 years, we simply won't let anything bother us. We can stand in line behind someone counting their change a penny at a time to get enough money for their purchase for 30 minutes if that's what it takes. Rather than saying anything, I'm more likely to hand the cashier three or four dollars so they don't have to count the nickles and dimes.
Jim knows more about CZcams than I do. I can’t edit my craft channel kissy kat. I do one take only. Lol. Cornbread is my favorite. I luv it for desert too.
Jim your kiling it, basic practical cooking. Your showing me basic practical things that are diffrient then I have learned in maryland. keep it comming youtube grandpa. Get a patreon account id love to contrubute to your video making.
Now Jim; If you had a Mexican neighbor like me; I'd be sending you over my version which is mostly identical to yours with the added ingredients of about 1-1/2 cups chredded chedder cheese and a quarter cup chopped pickled jalapenos!
I made this to take to dinner at my son’s house on Thanksgiving. My recipe is just a bit different. No eggs, but added a cup of shredded cheddar cheese. It was a big hit.
Katheryn Kennedy You saw correctly,Katheryn.I have actually seen this recipe on several channels. The stick of butter is soft or melted to help the mixing process along. There are variations. I thought because he had called it "Texas" corn casserole that it was going to have special seasoning with a spicy kick. The eggs in the recipe are optional depending on the texture you are going for. When the eggs are omitted, it will be dense. The eggs in the recipe will make it fluffy like a soufflé. Personally, I want this to be a savory dish rather than a sweet dessert type of dish.I will be leaving the sugar out and adding some salt, paprika, rosemary and garlic. He did not add cheese, but others have and that is what I would do. A little in the mix and some sprinkled on top. Good luck. I am sure whatever you choose it will be delicious.
I can tell this is the best corn casserole video on CZcams, just by the editing alone! You have another subscriber sir!

I made this to take to dinner at my son’s house on Thanksgiving. My recipe is just a bit different. No eggs, but added a cup of shredded cheddar cheese. It was a big hit.
Just saw this. That looked like a whole stick of butter. Can anyone verify

Looks like a good recipe, I was really disappointed at the fact she didn't bother to let us see it cut after it came out the oven...humm wonder why
Yeah, guess I could but I didn't want to take it to a potluck with a bite taken out of it.
Awesome!
