    I've worked union jobs since I was 17. Even served as president for 4 years. Often people I knew from school would diss unions. Now, as they retire, they realize they underestimated their costs as their stocks tank and interest on their mortgages triple. My benefits cover cost of living increases (inflation), health services, education, and even burial. and I retired at 70% of my salary. Yeah, I support unions, but get involved and make it a good union

    Markwayne is so full of it! I work for Mullin Plumbing in Oklahoma. He was making several hundred thousand dollars per year and he ended up selling the business to a big conglomerate for 10s of millions of dollars. All of these politicians are so full of it its disgusting

    Wrong, Mr. Mullin. The average UPS employee might make 35k a year. That's including all the part timers.
    I've been at UPS for 23 years. I'm a full time hazardous materials auditor and I made over $80k last year. Feeder drivers make MORE than me.

    the average annual pay for an UPS Truck Drivers in the United States is $58,259 a year.
    my mother was a teamster. And with her pay. my brother and I had full health benefits until we had our BA degress. once we were out of school we could pay a far reduced rare for kaiser heath plans. I am still banking with the same credit union today. that has been over a 40 year relationship.
    Unions built this country.

    I worked for a company where the owner claimed his salary was less than some of the employees. Somehow he was the only one able to afford expensive toys but he claimed he only made 40k a year.... I noticed he closed up shop recently. Maybe the IRS finally audited him. I hope so. He tried to screw with my unemployment after he fired me for missing work because I was at the hospital passing kidney stones. He kept calling the unemployment office and telling them I had side gigs making cash.

    My husband was in the carpenter's union. It was the best thing that could have ever happened to us as a young couple starting out! The insurance was fabulous! Out of three children, we paid ten dollars out of pocket! When winter came, his rep personally came to our home to offer my husband some interior remodel work to see us through. It was so rewarding to be union!

    The problem is most business owners pay themselves minimum wages because wages are taxable. So they minimize taxable income. While their company grows in value, their net worth increases and they pay minimum taxes. If they need money they take out a line of credit and claim interest tax deductions. Legal tax avoidance.

      You're ignorant. You are taxed on the money your company profits, whether you take draws or not. If you take a wage, or guaranteed payment, then you pay taxes on that, plus the money your company profits. Go open a business and learn how much the government takes from you.

    I am sitting in UPS right now. I am a PART TIME inside worker. I made $48k last year working part time. I pay 0 for insurance and have a $200 deductible. I don't know a single feeder driver at UPS that makes under $100k a year. Mullin is literally lying through his teeth. I pay $70 a month to the union. Best money I spend.

    I belong to a union. I worked with a nonunion subcontractor who bragged about how much more money he made than me. It was $13/hr more. Except the union pays my medical insurance premium, it contributes to my 401k, endures that I'm fairly paid for overtime, ensures I make full prevailing wage, ensures that I'm qualified to work in my trade, provides free career training and gives my voice some authority in contract negotiations. That's worth $13/hr. My union could be a lot stronger, but too many of my union brothers and sisters are too busy on their knees fellating the bosses to light a fire under our reps to squeeze the greedy fat cats for a truly fair shake

    UPS "feeder" drivers, that's tractor trailer, are covered by the Teamsters local 705, and 710. They make way more than 35K per year.
