    WHO I AM:
    Hi I’m Claire, aka Ms Britaly! In 2018, I decided I wanted to change my life and relocate to Italy. I didn't know anyone there, I didn't speak the language and I had only visited the country twice before. Just eight months after I had made this decision, I packed up my suitcases and moved solo from London to Italy, embarking on my very first Expat experience. On paper it sounds completely bonkers but in reality it was the making of me.
    On this channel I dive deep into the lessons that life in South Italy teaches me, as well as showing you the beauty and reality of everyday life here. I also share tips for visiting South Italy, so that you can get the most out of your Italian experience.

    Just caught up with this video! teeming city under the shadow of Vesuvius...you have to live every moment fully! I monitor the volcanic activity in Italy on an app. When I was 9 years old, my older cousin got married and went on his honeymoon to Italy. He asked me if I wanted anything and I said I wanted a piece of pumice from Vesuvius! He brought it back and I had it for years...I don't know where I lost it but I keep looking! I used to make school posters about Vesuvius. I was obsessed! And still am! Thanks for this tour!

    Naples is indeed a beautiful city and really deserves a visit for its atmosphere, as much as it needs to be better taken care of for many points of view

    It’s beautiful to walk around Naples (my city) but you must visit every corner with a guide, sotterranean Naples, Metro station of art, you have to visit all of 7 castles of Naples end 4 Royal Palace. It was very rich city became poor for the union of Italy in 1860… now she is coming back to life

    I haven't been to Naples since before Covid but I'll probably be back again this winter, When you said about that game and paying for drinks I presume that meant going to the Gran Cafe Gambrinus on the edge of Piazza del Plebiscito? My favourite restaurant is Garum in the Quartieri Spagnoli and, apart from Spacca Napoli going down which is a unique experience, my favourite street is that of the booksellers at the side of the university.. The antique bookshops there are amazing. Naples is its own country with its own language, customs and philosophy of life. Not surprising since Neapolis (the New City) was one of the largest cities in Magna Grecia long before Ancient Rome came along. I'm not sure if any of his books are available in English but, for me, Luciano De Crescenzo is the guy to read if you want to get an idea of the Neapolitan attitude to life, particularly "Così parlò Bellavista" and of course there are the plays of Eduardo di Fillippo and the films of the incomparable Totò. Lots of things to see like Il Cristo Velato, il chiostro di Santa Chiara with its amazing picturesque majolica tiles, the Museo Archeologico where there are the original artworks from Pompei etc. That's even without thinking of going a little bit out of the city by train to Pompei, Ercolano or the Reggia di Caserta. I'm sure you'll be back. BTW your videos are getting more and more professional every time. Complimenti.

      Thank you! Yes I was in Naples all day yesterday and this is what I managed to see. I feel like I’ve only scratched the surface with all I want to show - so yes definitely a part two to follow! Naples is a multi-sensory experience and I have to be honest, I love it!

      Thank you! Embrace it - Naples is a heady mix of culture, vitality and some of the most questionable driving that you've ever seen! It often gets a bad rap but if you have your wits about you and you're careful, you will soon fall in love with this city as much as I did!

      Both. The city in itself hosts just more than 1M people but the surrounding metropolitan area easily reaches 3 M and more...all in the proximity of the Vesuvius! Naples was one the largest cities in the world for some time and a vibrant cultural centre, the true capital of the South..it's an open street life theatre

      Hi I live here in Naples, I am sincerely shocked that there are still certain rumors, wrong, for which my city may seem unlivable, dangerous etc. That is absolutely not the case. They are all rumors invented by northern Italy because they are afraid that if the culture of the south returns to shine we take back all the tourists who stole from us

    • @antoniopedata4463
      @antoniopedata4463 Před 2 lety +3

      naples in the last 10 years has changed a lot, it is very beautiful, it is eaten by god and above all there are monuments, statues, frescoes, paintings etc. unique in the world. Think that in Naples there is the richest treasure in the world tho is the Treasure of San Gennaro, which is richer than the entire heritage of the family and the tsars of Russia anbiamo the largest diamonds and emeralds in the world

    • @antoniopedata4463
      @antoniopedata4463 Před 2 lety +3

      if you can reassure yourself at every corner and square there are armed guards (which are only control, which in other Italian cities does not exist) in fact Milan, Turin and Florence have become the most dangerous cities for robberies and robberies. Naples is now just ready to welcome tourists and from the latest statistics like more than Rome, Milan and Venice both for quality and cost of stay

    • @antoniopedata4463
      @antoniopedata4463 Před 2 lety +3

      so know that all the rumors that go abroad on Naples are false, except for the traffic and for the fact fhe and very chaotic. I know I may seem angry from these messages, but when I read bad things about my city that are theother false I get to cry, I’m tired of but when I read bad things about my city that are not true, I cry, I’m tired of fake sterotypes.

      Naples is a beautiful city and one I recommend that you visit. Of course it goes without saying in any city you need to have your wits about you - but that’s not solely for Naples, it goes for any big city. Be street wide and savvy and you’ll have a good time
