Hi Jehan, Great question. Yes, this is strictly Lenormand tradition. In other oracles or our own perception) snake may mean a healer, medicine, transformation, etc. But in this deck, it's the antagonist. The Mice card in this deck is another. No matter how cute you think mice are, in the Lenormand, they thieve. I happen to like snakes, so this is strictly Lenormand tradition, not any perception on how I feel about snakes. I don't know of any Lenormand tradition that favors the Snake card.

I've love your videos on Lenormand and your teaching style is fantastic. I have ordered my first Lenormand deck The Celtic Lenormand and look forward to using it. The one problem I'm having with the Lenormand system is using the image of an animal as something bad or evil. I love animals so much, yes I even like snakes and I am having trouble seeing the fox and snake as bad cards only, it really makes me feel sad. I would rather see the image of a not nice person than using an animal as an evil symbol. I know this is so silly and I will have to look past it. At least in The Celtic Lenormand I believe they have included a second snake card which shows it shedding it's skin and some extra interpretations for the cards. I know it won't be strictly traditional but I think it will work for me. Thanks for your great videos and I'm learning a lot.

I learned so much and I love the cards deck that you where working with, I will look into finding a Lenormand Vintage oracle Lila and cherry twilight deck., though I don't know much about Lenormand I will try to learn them as I am just learning the meaning of each tarot card now. OMG! When you put down the Snake and the Key and you gave some explanation about the cards, I thought, "Oh gee! That's Harvey Weinstein! Then you went on to give the explanation about the actress trying to get the part and what she would have to do to get the part. LOL!

I believe this is a Russian deck called the lilac Lenormand. It has more than just Lenormand cards in it, which were not used for this video.

Good question. The answer is no. In Lenormand, there are positive cards, neutral cards, and negative cards. Each of their values are important. Snake is a negative card. The meanings you mention are more like how many people read *tarot.* The negative cards help veer us toward awareness of problems, and that's extremely important. Snake never means shedding or transformation in traditional Lenormand, despite the regional dialect differences of Lenormand.
