This video has helped me to understand so much more. I was reading the lenormand like tarot and just couldn't fathom it. "Tarot is visual. Lenormand is verbal." was the light bulb moment for me, and the examples shown on how to combine the cards ie subject (noun) and modifer (verb) cemented the logic of how to read lenormand for me. Thank you so much.
These videos might be old but they are GOLD! There doesn't seem to be as much resources for Lenormand as there is for Tarot. I appreciate all the knowledge you share on your channel. Thank you! ♥
In response to Kat, I go left to right,but as long as the left is the topic, you can do either and get the same message. For example:
Dog - Fox - WHip
It could be:
1) The false friend criticized them, or
2) they were criticized by the false friend.
Notice that the dog is the action agent, the topic.
They both meant the same. But I don't right right to left as in:
The criticism was intended to manipulate, but they are loyal to you. (Whip - Fox - Dog). In this sentence the Criticism (whip) becomes the agent around which the cards are focused.
I have been reading tarot and oracle cards for so long that I have to remember to leave imagery out of it. This is really good!
I've wondered about Lenormand and your lessons make it very easy to understand. Wow, the cards you are using are so beautiful I can see myself falling into the visual reading like tarot with them. You are very good at teaching and making it easy to understand and enjoyable. Thanks:)

Donnaleigh, I have a question regarding the things you say in minute 9. In the german school there is the distance method, in which if we see the snake close to the querent means that traitor is near him, if we see it 3 cards left or right, it means that he is relatively safe. The same thing happens with coffin, birds, clouds... On the clouds they even check the dark side and the bright side to interpret good problems or confusion. Also, they check if we have the star close to the clouds and re-interpret appearance issues... Our school, the french one, doesn't have those things, but we cannot ignore the distance method in the grand tableau. So, maybe we can tarotise our spreads consciously when we see negative cards. Sorry dear for this question.
There are some things that cannot be combined between the near/far method and the French method. The techniques conflict with each other. So it's okay if you don't combine the two methods. Know the rules of both before you attempt combining them. The strategies that agree are useful to combine together.

It's simple and I like the written synopsis at the bottom pulling it all together and your humor - ENRON! I am a Gemini with Taurus ascending so sometimes I get "stuck in my ways" or get apprehensive at times of something new; however, after watching your video I look forward to getting a deck and becoming acclimated with it! I have a question. In the bottom right-hand corner of each card is a number and symbol. Do you use these in your readings? Is there an advanced course/video on this? Does this deck come with a book? yes, birds can definitely mean chatter and gossip. It is especially gossip when it is followed by the whip

I'm using the same deck. When I asked if the guy A is "the one" in a relationship reading. I got Heart + Sun + Choice.
So, I can interpret it as "A bright relationship lead to a choice" or "something is explored in the relationship and lead to a split".
And the two sentences mean totally opposite things... That's very confusing...

Can you tell me what these three cards, in this order, have, as a message: Tree, Sun, Coffin. Please correct me if I'm wrong. This is how I interpreted the card: Tree for health/family, Sun for exposure/joy/happiness, and coffin for something ending/death. I have a minor hemoglobin condition and drew these cards. I don't want to think that it indicates death for me, since the coffin cloth faces the sun card. Can you Please respond to this comment. I would appreciate it.
In the Lenormand system, the coffin means an ending to something, but rarely death. When it dies refer to death, it is always a death that has already occurred.
In this trio, it could be a reference to a heat-related (Sun) health situation (tree) being put in the past (coffin). Blood circulation helps in part heat the body, So I would say that the cards are very optimistic about your health issue becoming a thing of the past. I hope that helps.

I' m just curious...I am new to Lenormand and am more familiar with Tarot. If Lenormand is verbal and has nothing to do with symbolism, why put the pictures on the cards at all? Why not just have words on the cards? It seems odd to me that there are so many beautifully drawn decks with so much detail in the drawings if you are not supposed to pay attention to them.
LaDonna Paulk but I feel like you do have to pay attention to the card elements - it’s just that they are signifying the words, and the key word for the card and its image (that’s just a symbol for the key word) can unfold into a variety of meanings. I feel like Lenormand is more forward as to the answers you’ll get, but the symbols in the cards are more simplified, and connected to those key words/key meanings, that you interpret according to context.
