It's actually beautiful how Bobby uses his art here. He is showing how his case was always a joke. His trauma wasn't taken as seriously due to the factors in his story. Society doesn't take sexual abuse to men as seriously compared to woman. Although, there has been changes in that mentality as time moves forward. There is slight progress. Back to Bobby though, his own dad laughed. All of his family laughed. Something that was abusive and not a joke was and never has been taken seriously. His comedy here is an unfortunate mirror to society. He just made it funnier.
