Great review. It was exactly what I was looking for. Do you recommend all the CATs construction RCs? Your feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks! If you want to just play in the house and want the realistic scale look then absolutely get the dcm CATs. If you want to actually move dirt you will need bigger and stronger rcs and will need to do upgrades. I have some construction videos on my channel moving dirt and all of those vehicles have lots of upgrades. Thanks for the comment!!

I recently got a double eagle 561 and don’t have a remote for it. I was curious if any one knows where I could get another and if it would connect right away??

I would recommend getting another double e 561 and you should be able to use that controller with both excavators. Your not going to find much customer support or part availability since it's toy/hobby grade. They're fun but not capable of really moving anything. Huina 1593 is the best excavator on a budget and it moves dirt for real.

Anyone know the difference between the 25001 and 25005?

There is not much info on the 25005. It looks like it doesn't have the scale detail as good and it runs on aa batteries. I think it is more toy grade. Probably why it is cheaper. The 25001 is barely above toy grade but you can buy parts to fix it. Thanks for the comment!!

It’s a no brainer really, the Diecast masters model looks better and smoother operating and digs deeper, glazing and great detailing…

Definitely the better of the two. The dcm is barely hobby grade though and only moves light material. I use huina models for actually digging dirt. Very fun excavator for the money!

@@slowerlowerrc I will be fitting electric actuators to mine, got some spare, and talking of scales, just what are they playing at, they are way off, just what they use in calculations for these models, heaven knows...

@@slowerlowerrc I have just purchased one of the Cat 336s and very nice too…
However it was very weak, so decided to do something about it, …
The clutches are the weak spot…so I modded then, there are 2 identical units…
I used a hot glue gun to semi freeze the springs, this glue stays Malabal and semi soft, so will not totally lock up the mechanism…
Also before reassembly I changed the operation of the main boom, as it’s wrong way round..!! down stick on the radio is boom up and vice Versa …like all my other models…
I reversed the boom motor wiring and swapped round the limiter micro switches, …these are a must , because they read the electronics in the circuit board..!
      Finally re-assembled and tested..
It now digs perfectly in soft sand, no annoying clicking and power up by 50% !!! I tried to overrun it, but did not brake.!!! But be very careful and watch the arms…!
What it would be like in gravel or harder material, I cannot say, but I was digging full buckets and worked well, a far cry from out of the box and now works as it should…
