My silver stack goal has been reached when prices were lower. Now I have shifted to 1970's one oz art bars mainly from 1973-1975...USSC, Madison, Death Valley, Great Lakes, Crabtree etc etc. HIGHLY addictive to find the rare ones at a good price.

I don't think barter with gold or silver would be probable in a total collapse situation. 99% of the population has never held a round or coin, so they wouldn't understand its worth. They wouldn't know if it's real or fake. I think they will want food, water, hygiene products, medicines, and protection. If stores start to open up and accept metals, the rest of the population will start to catch on. Who the heck knows though. Just my gut feeling. I do love 90%. Great video, Josh.

    • @davelevy4394

100% agree. I don't want to live in a world where I have to barter with silver (or anything else for that matter). I mean, if it comes to that, only the small percentage of the population who prepared will be able to barter. It will not be a case of the haves, and the have nots.....it will be survival of the fittest, or survival of the most well armed. No thank you!!!!! I stack simply to speculate on silver. I believe silver will increase exponentially, and hope that I will double my investment by early in 2025.

I also don't buy bars or all the rounds with 1,000 different designs. Good luck trying to get rid of those designer rounds in a SHTF scenario. I know I won't be taking them for barter. More silver is better and having checked around on selling only dealers seem to pay more for uncirculated. Whatever is the lowest premium is screaming to be bought. 90% / Junk happens to fit that bill currently.
I suspect 'IF' silver skyrockets, most silver brought to coin shops will be bought without prejudice. VERY similar buying prices. Though something like 90% maybe a bit back of spot, due to needing refined. Probably goes for large bars as well, as demand would be low.
Supply/demand would definitely be a consideration even at $75/ounce, however. So I could be wrong about low buybacks on constitutional.
For all I know, there could be people buying it to save it from the melting pot lol (I do with the mercs)
I believe we'll see new all time highs sooner than later. Even if silver were 'at' it's all time high, it would still be undervalued and ratio out of whack. I said that, and I'm actually pretty conservative about silvers price, by the way.

The best to me is one you didn't show, 10 ounce Tudor Beasts from the Royal mint. Sovereign, big 10 ounce coins, from $3-6 over spot but they are limited mintage and probably will have a collector's value as they have different reverse Beasts. Also, some have the Queen and some have the King on the Obverse. They are 9999 fine, fantastic all around imo.

This is why I prefer Canadian Maples over overpriced American Silver Eagles. They are prettier, silver is 9999 vs 999, better security features, no milkspots (post 2018), lower premiums, and FV is $5.00 Canadian vs $1.00 USD. Based on FV alone, it takes over 3 ASE to equal 1 Maple. Personally I would think the opposite would be true, that Maples would command a much higher premium over ASE. Only negative is that Maples have the English monarch on them, currently King Charles III (formerly Queen Elizabeth II), but to me, it's still a superior bullion coin vs ASE or frankly over any other silver sovereigns available.

Or, speaking of gold, I think the best buy is 24 karat US Mint gold buffaloes. Their "high premium" is the market consensus is that they are worth more than their weight.

I'll stack all of these. I have a problem, though. I'm a collector at heart, and when faced with the opportunity to purchase a type coin for my set, or bullion, I'll jump on the type coin, especially if it's one I've been looking for.
I traded several silver maples a while back for some better date PCGS Carson City Morgan's. The maples had ugly milk spots, and I don't like that. So, maybe I'm not a fan of the impaired sovereigns. I like silver eagles, but not the premiums. My favorite sovereigns are the Britannias and kangaroos.
That said, there's always something very satisfying about having a pile of constitutional silver in front of you to add to the stack. It's American, and everyone recognizes it. Should the need arise, the ability to have anything from a dime to a dollar for barter is a good thing.

I’m sorry but I just went over this post and realized how long it is. I will go back
over it and cut what I can and cut out as much useless content as possible.
I know a lot of people wouldn’t buy an ASE because they are probably the most expensive form of silver on the market. But I would still say that the ASE is the best choice to buy on the market . The main reason is because they would appreciate the (AMERICAN SILVER EAGLE) most Coin on the record. The price is mostly because collectors as well coin shops will want to buy them and sell them because they are readily to be sold immediately,. These coins will be the most easily be the most identifiable coins out there. That being said, I would buy as much as I can.
Right now I’m buying graded ASE at MS 69(for the older ones) and MS 70 ( FOR THE newer coins). Now I know that a lot of people will slam me for that
    will be slam me
So aside from that I would suggest that if you’re buying I would think that the ASE would be the best one to buy and make sure that they are easily and check the silver content of the coin as well.
This alone would make them would make them an excellent choice to ID and confirm their ID without going through a lot of different things on the coin and I don’t think that you will have to be an expert to go through all of of these things to ID the coin. Aside from that the only thing that you should have to test is the silver content and now you have IDENTIFIED the coins value and composition to accept the coins as being real. So now the coins will be ID and ownership will be established and the coins will be identified and hopefully be returned to me as soon as possible.
So aside from the fact that it would be a little more extensive in IDENTIFYING the coins you would have little to no problems of identifying them , you should have no problems in recovering your coins back.

Gold has fared significantly better over the last year, 2 years, 10 years, 50 years, 100 years, etc. The premium one pays over spot for silver is usually always quite high (in excess of 20-30% over spot sometimes!!). Gold has a higher barrier to entry, but even fractional gold is a lower percentage over spot than silver. I'm still under water from silver purchased in 2009, yet the gold I bought just a few short years ago has appreciated significantly. If you can't afford a ⅒oz gold coin, you are better off buying equities such as ETFs. Stay away from silver unless it's purely to bring you joy and you don't mind having to hold it for over a decade to break even. If you can buy a 100oz silver bar, you can buy a 1oz gold coin. Happy stacking and to each his own...just sharing my 2¢.😊 😊😊

Do you feel that 90% silver is best because of the barter factor? I don't want to live in a world where I have to barter with silver (or anything else for that matter). I mean, if it comes to that, only the small percentage of the population who prepared will be able to barter. It will not be a case of the haves, and the have nots.....it will be survival of the fittest, or survival of the most well armed. No thank you!!!!! I stack simply to speculate on silver. I believe silver will increase exponentially, and hope that I will double my investment by early in 2025. I have been successful buying serialized silver bars on eBay from known mints (Scottsdale, APMEX, Engelhard, Sunshine, Johnson Murphy, etc.) at prices slightly below spot. Some are auctions, some are buy it now. Most have free shipping. One seller collected over $12K from me and did not deliver. But eBay made good, full refund within 2 business days. There are a lot of scammers out there. Pay with PayPal!!!! Thoughts???

Impaired doesn't scare me any, if it comes to a barter situation they will be recognizable, and that will be important.

I think you have the recognizability issue upside down. The ants who have prepared will know what is real and how to test for it. The grasshoppers will not know - and they will have no silver anyway. They will learn fast or starve.

I got a tube from costco. 5 over spot. I heard they bought the next 2 months of minted coins but I did not hear the rest of the year.

I suggest using the name "heritage silver" and never "junk" silver. Constitutional silver has nothing to do with the Constitution, right? Cons: worn, and not all coins of same denomination are the same weight; plus, people remember these from common usage, years ago. Will the public think of an old Washington quarter as anything but a Washington quarter. Private minting produces unfamiliar images, in some way; I think people bartering will be receptive to a new value. Old silver looks defeated; people in a bounce-back economy are going to need to sense they are going to prosper again. Last, I can talk with enthusiasm about a new round with a meaningful message in the design, but I'm speechless about an old dime.
