“Listen, it’s not your money. You understand? Don’t lie to us again.” Perfect words to use to convince people that it’s not worth being a hero.
Yeah, honestly the only other thing you can say to similar effect is "Even if you bank here, this money is FDIC insured anyway. You won't lose a thing. The bank will. No heroes then, alright?"
@XDNA POISON It's not entirely original, I got it from Breaking Bad originally but the fact is banks are required to carry FDIC insurance. In the episode "Peek-A-Boo" when Jesse is basically holding those two tweakers up for holding Skinny Pete up, the tweaker says he can pay Jesse back another way, they got this safe in their backyard and "BECAUSE it's FDIC insured, the customers of the bank will be unaffected" -- the only one affected will be the bank. This is after Jesse exclaims "Wait, that's my bank!" when he realizes the ATM was stolen from his own bank. If it's a line in Payday I am not sure, but it's true in concept though.
@@voteZDLR It's from everything lmao. *"On the floor, asshole. The money's insured so it's not worth dyin' for"* --Point Break. *"We're not here for your money, we're here for the bank's money---you're money is insured by the federal government"* --Heat.
But she wasn't being a hero. And that "test" was kind of pointless---why ask a question you already know the answer to? And what other part of the robbery relied on trusting an employee? lmao still cool.
@@Vote_By_Mail Yeah and someone else had commented it is also in the game Payday 2 but it appears the comment is no longer there? Anyway yeah you hear people say that in movies, shows, games, etc all the time but it's only true up to a certain amount. I mean for all intents and purposes it will cover most of the damage from a typical bank robbery but I don't know the exact amount where it is cut off at, probably several hundred thousand if not a few million dollars but don't quote me on that.
"Why risk your life for someone else's money"

Usually bank robbery movies are corny but this scene is good the overall tone of it gives me dark knight vibes.
There is nothing more cony than all that cheesy superhero shit that pass as movies these days.
@Scott Lawson You are probably right, my frustration with recent movies has got me cranky i guess.
You should see Heat (1995), an action thrilled with Al Pacino and Robert de Niro. GTA V and Christopher Nolan's Batman The Dark Knight were inspired by this movie.

Maybe you need specific incentives like being told what robbers might do if not stopped quickly.
@@johndododoe1411 Like 99.9% of the time run away with the bank's money? When I was managing a Video store in the mid 00's as a teen, the Wachovia across the parking lot was hit at least 3-4 times over the course of two years. None of the tellers did shit till the robbers left because it would be foolish to risk their lives over 8-12$ an hour, a job they would still have when the robbers left.
@@Seven_Leaf I mean like kill a random hostage to make a point. Or do that in the next bank if you don't help police hunt them down.
I like how in this movie the characters are so in depth. The one bank robber actually tries to be nice and calm the teller down so she can open the vault. Its a nice change from the constant violent angry robbers you usually see in movies
Because they knew angry makes people more scared and nervous if you calm there stat down the process goes by faster this scene is the most overlooked scene in movie history because most people say the way they did things wasn't right but that whole scene was spot on a huge success in robbery history from the way they did everything
@@brianperez379 actually you need every type of person in a heist for example, violent one, calm one, paranoid one etc.
Lies again? Babies And Roses
Oddly enough these types of robberies are exceptionally rare. This is what is known as a "takeover-style robbery." Most bank robberies are note jobs, as it's far easier to get away with (though normally the perpetrator only gets away with the cash in the pans and nothing from the vault). A takeover-style robbery on average yields higher "profit" but the risk exponentially goes up when you are seen walking in with a whole crew armed to the teeth.
@@eginteractive Yep. Especially these days, you'd be better off jacking ATMs then going after a bank, bank = fed involvement and there are a lot more ways to get caught now. Back when this movie takes place, when security cameras went to onsite tapes and everything wasn't in digital, you might, MIGHT have had a chance. Nowadays, naw. The cops will catch you, just a matter of time. And banks these days don't carry enough cash to make it worthwhile
The moment the robber said "where's everybody's Blackberry's?", that was when i realized this incredible movie was already a decade old. My god, it still holds up! Easily the best bank robbery movie since Heat

@@MichaelOnRockyTop Bleach ruins forensic evidence like hair, blood, or skin cells. @@jameswallace5235 Yes, but the FDIC insurance is paid in large part by premiums paid by the bank. The bank passes on those premiums to customers in the form of lower interest on deposits and in fees for services. Since there are so many banks paying and robberies are rare you don't "notice' it, but in theory if bank robberies were more common you'd see increased fees and lower interest on deposits.

"worth it"
They did a good job filming this. Everything moving fast and your heart pounding with adrenaline. Other than the robber being a "gentleman." Everything is pretty close to reality.
He wasn't being a gentleman. He wanted the lock open as quickly as possible. She was messing up cause she was stressed so he calmed her down so she would open it correctly.
@@schm147 He calmed her down, because he felt bad that they were traumatizing her and he didn't tell his buddies that she was the one who pushed the button that alerted the cops. He had a thing for her the whole time. I've been in that kind of situation during an actual robbery, and the robbers don't care about your well being.
He wasn't being a gentleman. He was being smart. These guys are professionals. He knew if she didn't calm down, she'd never open the safe combo. She was a wreck. Also, just because he's a bank robber doesn't mean he's there to treat her like a piece id shit for no reason. Again, he's a professional
And yeah, he didn't want a dead body after the alarm was hit. Because then it's murder. And everyone has to die. Why leave a witness. It's not because he had a thing for her.
I'm sure you've been robbed plenty of times by professionals at your bank 😂
There are hidden silent alarm buttons EVERYWHERE. Zero chance someone doesn't hit one as soon as they hit the door. Safe combinations are really hard to put in even during normal circumstances, that was realistic. There is no on site hard drive for cameras, everything is stored remotely and monitored by a security services constantly.
Yeah plus I think only armed transport can open the bank vaults now, and it's done through a remote system.

I love how the audio cuts out when it cuts to the surveillance footage. Nice touch.
The robbers are completely right in that nobody should EVER risk their lives over a bank's money. It is sickening that the bank would even teach anyone otherwise.
I’ve worked for a bank for over a decade and no bank teaches that….the money is insured by the FDIC, the bank doesn’t care if it’s stolen, because they get reimbursed. They’d be more fearful of a lawsuit by the employee’s family or paying out life insurance premiums……the more you know….
They never teach that bruh
@@mel_dagator8427
Oh… what’s to stop the managers pocketing some of the unstolen money and reporting that as part of money the thieves stole
Banks don't teach that.
They don't they literally teach people to do as they are told. Even armed security is trained to avoid a gun fight unless necessary. Armed security is more a deterrent. Plus banks have insurance on their money so aren't that concerned with being robbed. Especially considering the FBI catches like 80% of bank robbers
