    Hey everyone! Could you give me some advice on whether I should go for this or not? I recently got the Audient ID14 MKII, the Shure SM7B, and Logic Pro. While Logic Pro is pretty complex, I get that it's a learning process and I'm ready to invest the time.
    Here's the deal: I’m into acting, live broadcasting, singing, and working from home on voice acting for books, cartoons, audiobooks, and the like. But for going online with CZcams or Instagram, is this new device a better choice for me than sticking with the Audient ID sound card?
    How do I figure out if and when I need this over the Audient combined with Logic Pro? Or can they do the exact same things, just that Logic can handle more other stuff?
    I'm new to recording but not to acting and singing. I've never had a CZcams channel or done live social media stuff before. This little device looks and sounds so cool! Please help me understand how it could be useful for me. Thanks!

    Hi, Jared. Thank you for your videos! I would like to ask you something. Between ve 500 and ve 22, who has a more natural sounding pitch correction? I'm choosing between the two specifically because of the harmonies and pitch correction. the ve 500 has a more detailed setup and seems more functional, but I don't know in terms of effects quality which is better.

  • @blueojos
    @blueojos Před 5 měsíci +1

    How do you rate this vs the VE 500? I find the pitch correction on both units kind've grainy with lo-fidelity artifacts present.

    • @JaredGunstonTV
      @JaredGunstonTV  Před 5 měsíci +1

      I used em on both but I found I had to use in ears else I was hearing my own voice with the PC and it always sounded weird. I sang a bit with PC on this unit it sounds pretty descent to me. Better then 500 tho... I'd have to put em both head to head, perhaps for another day/vid

      i haven't used it long enough to be able to tell, they feel pretty solid when i was using it around filming. 500 is still the flagship, this is more of an upgrade to the older ve-20 units i think. But im a sucker for a good screen and i prefer the newer menus.

    Thanks Jared,
    Nice review, full of information as usual. I just bought a Gigcaster 8 (after seeing your review), would you say it´s a upgrade with the VE-22 or is it the same as I have in the Gigcaster (with the (GA-FC)?

    • @JaredGunstonTV
      @JaredGunstonTV  Před 4 měsíci

      Gig gaster is rad for having a mic setup, a guitar setup, and using it as an interface. But the VE-22 has harmonies, and a 1 knob comp more suited for voice. Also De-ess/auto tune, etc etc... I use my gig caster to "listen" to what ever pedal i'm trying out or setting up for a gig. Even now working in the UAE, i refuse to leave the gig caster at home, and i've got a VE-500 in my cupboard incase i need a vocal fx pedal. I wanted to bring the 22, BUT there was a chance i might need to be ready to do my one man band stuff on call, and i've got MIDI being sent from my ipad in time to change fx/patches, and my 500 is already setups, the 22 hasn't got midi so i had to opt for the 500. But not because i think it sound better. To answer you question though i'd use the VE-500 through the Gigcaster in a stereo 1/2 or 3/4 channel, use all the fx from the VE but record through the gig caster. All the best !

      I monitor from my gigcaster. I recommend everyone to use a little mixer, like a behringer xenyx, to have multiple inputs, like a stereo channel for your pc, a stereo channel for your pedal you're setting up, etc

    comparing your ve500 and this video i can't help but notice that the reverb effects on the 500 sounds much better than the 22. is it like that or is it just me? plz help cuz I can't figure out which pedal I need to buy, I like the looks and easy interface on 22, but I feel like the 500 makes quality reverb sound according to your 2 videos, also please tell me if the ve500 doesn't cut off the effect tail like the ve22 when turning off effects using the pedal switches and switching between patches.

    great stuff Jared! I have already bought this and i need help to set 1 or 2 main soundsets. Can you make a new edit video with 1 part for a ballad sound creation and 1 for a rock? We love you!!!

    • @JaredGunstonTV
      @JaredGunstonTV  Před 5 měsíci +1

      Main difference is change is a longer sparkler reverb for the ballad, and a very "dull" delay. And the rock stuff shorter reverb, if any, and some sparkly delay.
      If you'd like I'll go through what I made so folks can copy my settings, and I'll keep your suggestion in mind.

    • @JaredGunstonTV
      @JaredGunstonTV  Před 5 měsíci

      i think it comes down to what do you NEED in your performances? The VE500 is perfect for my one man shows cause i do alot of vocoder stuff, but for a simple setup where i aint using that kinda stuff i'd use this. You could set up 1 patch and write it multiple times just changign the keys, so before you start you song you just switch to the correct key. If this one had vocoder i'd switch immediately, so for no my 500 still has a place on one of my boards. but i look forward to trying this out live. I dig it!
