Tourists can go to Laos or Cambodia and get a passport stamp . This will avoid problems. Also the Thai police don't even wear bullet proof vests. Very safe country

Acapulco was dangerous back in 2017 when I went there last. Pattaya on another hand is Not dangerous at all for regular tourist.
Yes there are some who goes there for wrong reasons but hey it’s NOT safe for those kinda people in most counties.
Both Pattaya in Thailand and Clark in Philippines both were created after US military bases were there for sometime and both are sex tourist’s destinations today.
P.S. best place to stay in Pattaya is Jomtien.

Vivo en Phuket desde hace 10 años y siempre me ha parecido un tanto vergonzoso que la policía tailandesa tenga a voluntarios trabajando gratuitamente, principalmente porque ellos tienen una baja capacidad de comunicación en inglés y precisan de estos la ayuda de estos extranjeros, lo he visto hasta en el edificio de inmigración. Entiendo que el concepto de voluntario implica la falta de remuneración económica pero es que hasta tienen que pagarse su propio visado para vivir en el país, y siempre están sometidos a la autoridad de lo que el oficial tailandés de turno decida, haciendo ellos siempre el trabajo más duro. Eso si es dedicación...
