    The life of a brush depends on how well you take care of it.This is the easiest and most effective way I've found to clean oil painting brushes.
    Materials: Gamsol Paint Thinner, Turpenoid Natural , 2 Metal Brush Washers

    Terpenoid Natural has saved several brushes for me that were otherwise DOA. I think it more than a moisturizer.

    Thanks so much for this. How long do you leave the paint thinner in the pot for? Can it be re-used for weeks / months on end?

    Kyle - What are the components of the second jar? I have to try to mix my own since I do not have access to paint supply store. Thanks for all the great videos! :)

      I'm not sure what it is exactly...it's all natural so you might be able to find the ingredients online. Good luck 👍😁🎨

    Can I use acetone or toluene as an alternative to turpentine or turpenoid for oil paints?
    They're somehow cheaper

    Great video thanks for this, can you tell me where I might find the Terpenoid natural and also the special pots with the inserts? Can they both be found somewhere like B&Q or can you find either in art supplie shops? Thanks again

    Thank you so much for the video! I have two questions
    1) Do I need the oil if I just use paint thinner (gamsol) to clean my brushes if I have “the master” brush cleaner?
    2) do I need to wash the paint thinner out of the bristles while painting?

    • @theartfulsouls4529
      @theartfulsouls4529  Před 2 lety +2

      Thanks..no you don't need the oil if you use the master brush cleaner. And no you you don't need to wash the thinner out while painting:) happy painting!

    Do you have to wash the terpenoid natural out before you paint with it again.

    What do you use to thin your paints before applying can you just go straight in with a little turps on the brush from this cleaning process?

    • @theartfulsouls4529
      @theartfulsouls4529  Před 2 lety

      Yes .I use galkyd medium mixed with a little gamsol. Just make sure you wipe the majority of the terpenoid natural out of your brush.

  • @mairaopel8134

    Can I use terpenoid as a paint thinner to clean hard brushes or do I need to purchase a paint thinner alongside the terpenoid?

    • @theartfulsouls4529
      @theartfulsouls4529  Před rokem +1

      You can use just turpenoid natural to clean brushes...but don't use it as a medium..it never dries

    apparently oil painting can be like a scam. So many chemicals to be bought. you need primer and you need stuff to clean the brush with.

    • @theforbiddenone2926
      @theforbiddenone2926 Před 3 měsíci

      This is soo dumb. You dont need primer, and how else are you getting oil off brushes? Sure, you can use soap if you have the time, but solvents just do the job better.
      Look up the definition of a "scam"
