For misty visor. A dot of washing up liquid or soap and polish dry on inside will last 2 or 3 days, no more misting inside.
What a lovely place to stay and I love the sound of Roger's engine!
Awesome private spot for an overnighter! That bumpy little laneway is Rogers bread and butter, he was made for backroad getaways. Like a true gentleman Roger got his best girl home safe!
He sure did. đ
What a peaceful place! Thank you for taking us along đ
I was at RAF Upper Heyford in Oxfordshire in 83/84. I loved living in England.
Absolutely love this. Live in Fairford and its always nice to see your town featured. You have a real talent for this. Great editing and you get the balance right between some riding shots and off the bike shots and the editing puts a good pace into the final video. You also come across as authentic and avoid the staged 'drama' in an obvious attempt to make it 'interesting.' Genuine trumps invented drama every day. I have toyed with the idea of doing something similar myself but know I couldn't produce anything as good as this so I will stick to watching yours. Good luck to you and keep on riding!
Wow, thank you Steve, that is praise indeed. đ
Lucky Rodger.!!!!!!! .......đ... Like watching Ur adventures .đž
What a great find for a night away....
For winter riding...
Electric heated jacket.
Heated grips.
Helmet with Pinlock to stop misting.
Visor with Rain X on the outside to assist with beading.
"V Wipe" on glove to use as a windscreen wiper.
Or just take the car.
All noted! Except the car bit, unless it's icy, or snowy, or raining. đ€Łâïž
I'm so glad your home safe youngen be lucky always x
That was a brilliant spot you found Charlie! You made the right decision to abort the mission. Frozen fog can freeze on the road surface.
Thank you. đ
What a great spot!
Thank you Charlie, for sharing this wonderful experience. Another charming and fascinating episode of your biking life đ
đ±đ€ COOL SOUNDTRACK!đ
Roger looks like a great bike, and that place looks fantastic. Thanks for showing us. đ
Great Find!!!
What a hidden gem
Itâs certainly very different!
Love it mate. Me and my mates do this (not often enough though). Get away from all the noise, ride somwehere cool, have a roadside brew (we always pack a burner and brew kit), have a fire, talk nonsense and just have a great time. Great video. Keep it shiny side up.
Sounds utterly perfect! đ
Madness of course, but also rather lovely. Fantastic find and must be utterly enchanting in the spring.
I really sympathise with those goat tracks you found yourself riding down. A good friend of mine from Suffolk decided it would be great to take me and my 800lb Harley down a run of single tracks with grass growing in the middle and liberally strewn with all manner of ordure. The bike acted up like a bloody obstinate horse, suddenly trying to follow the camber into the hedge, deliberately going for large trees, capriciously straying onto the grease grass and mud in the centreline and giving me both-end slides and making me girly-scream. All I needed to really make my day was a local in his tractor on spliff three and in a hurry coming the other way.
Thanks for doing these vlogs, theyâre good fun.
That sounds horrible on an 800lb Harley! I suspect I was lucky with the lack of stoned agricultural drivers. đ
@@restdayrider indeed! Its a 2007 Electra Glide so pre-braking, not featuring handling, ground clearance or cornering. Happily its very comfortable on eight-lane freeways with no bends at 80 centigrade. Havenât found any yet, but I live in hope.
Awesome!
lovely place Charlie, hope you visit there again next summer. Thanks for sharing.
Great video Charlie. Thanks for sharing. Ride safe.
Brilliant video again really enjoyed it,always best to do the safe thing,Roger looked good ,thanks for sharing đ
Loved seeing the hot water bottle. Saviour of many a good night's sleep !,
What a lovely place to spend the night.
Nice overnight spot Charlie, a good call to bail when the fog made riding hard, hope to see you and Roger again soon.
Cool video Charlie and what a tranquil little spot you found . Excellent to see you getting out on Roger even when the weather is crap ! Having said that respect also due to Sensible Charlie . Stay safe and keep those videos coming .
Thank you Martin đ
I am so happy that you put out some grub, for your Dad !
đ
What a lovely camping spot, Charlie!
Best to be safe.
That's what I thought too. âïžđ
Really good babycakes totally enjoyable thank you
Babycakes? đ€Ł
Enjoying your videos Charlie. May I suggest getting a pinlock insert for your visor to prevent it steaming up. Ride careful out there.
Can second that, I wouldn't be without one for winter riding, makes real difference đ
What a winner of a location great for this time of year , cracking vlog đđ»
what good place chill out .
Another great video, and a fantastic looking place to spend some down time. Brilliant, well done.
Thank you Robert. đ
What a lovely little place to stay! The classic hub is on my list as well. đ
I have been to the hub, but not for a year or so.
Brilliant video as always, I've got to admire your all round ride in any conditions spirit, sadly as I've gotten older I'm a fair weather rider. Love the Island, what a fantastic little place to stay, I would imagine in the summer it's fully booked, but I could well imagine staying a few days there, certainly a different take on glamping. Glad you enjoyed yourself, a shame you didn't make it to the Classic Bike Hub but you made the right choice given the shitty weather, always be safe, well done Charlie đđđ
I'll get there another day, I have been before but not for a year or so. đ
Thanks fit sharing đđ
Wow, your videos have improved tenfold over last few months, something is different and for the better too. Great video. đ
Thank you! I'm learning as I go. đ
A another great video keep up the good work â€ïž
Thank you. đ
What a find that place was! Looks amazing, and Roger just looks and sounds the bizz! Keep em coming Charlie!
Thank you ,đ
Good to see you still out and about on bike. I would get some heated clothing and a pinlock visor. Gamechangers for winter riding đ
I'll be looking into that. đ
I think I saw pinlock holes on your visor, any motorbike accessory place should be able to sort you out with the pinlock screen to fit
Good decision, discretion being the better part of valour - a ride for another day! Great find with the Island too - it must have been so peaceful.
And I'd say you've been well and truly Rogered now đ
đ
What a find Charlie , i bet its stunning in the summer , take care & ride safe
I'm going to have to go back and find out! đ
Nice video Charlie, looks like you had a great day out. Thanks for sharing! đđ
What an amazing place
What a pretty little place for an over nighter, quite a find that one Charlie đ
It's so lovely. đ
Charlie this looked like a fantastic location. Glad all is going well with Roger
You never cease to amaze me Charlie. In a good way of course. You seem very comfortable with Rodger âŠâŠ a lovely place to be away from this crazy world of ours. So Charlie whatâs next ? As always stay safe đ
I don't actually know what's next! đ€đ±
Charlie, you are a nice person, looking after yourself with a sense of self-preservation. That's a fun place to stay and very novel. The extra power on the new bike will be re-assuring. If you plan to do more rides in the cold, consider a heated waistcoat with adjustable heat control. My Widder is 20years old and still works. Probably more modern equivalents these days. Misting visors can be a real problem; try a visor spray inside and polish the outside with liquid Pledge so the water beads off. Stay safe you Rest Day Rider. By the way, RIAT Fairford airshow is the best in the south of England. I go every year, by coach.
I lf I do any more winter rides I suspect I do need to look into heated kit! đâïž
Great video, Charlie. Congrats on flying the jolly Roger!! No shame in bailing out; as they say, a true artist knows when to stop.đ
Very true! âïž
Enjoying your videos a lot. The narrow roads that you guys have make me nervous about on coming traffic. I guess it is what you are used to. Keep the great videos coming.
When so many of us have garaged our bikes for the winter, you're still out there so full marks Charlie. Great spot. You'll have to go back when the weather's kinder. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you, I'm planning to try some off road soon too! đ€Ł I just don't know when to stop, clearly. đ«Ł
A beautifully made video of a beautiful place. Fabulous đđ
Thank you đ
I had to smile when you mentioned "looking dodge" re stopping by military base - I thought where better when you're on Roger the Dodger!
Hahahaha too true! đ
I have recently got back into motorcycling, I also have a Himalayon, I am wanting to go camping like you do and I am looking forward to trips just like the Island, Thanks again for a great show
That's great news Philip. đ
Great vid! Lovely place you found! And most importantly, you gotta know when to hold 'em, and when to fold 'em. Live to ride another day!
Ride Safe đđŒ
The Gambler! đ
Really pleased to see you safely back home. Thanks for the adventure.
Thank you Eddie. đâïž
Lovely place, could live there very easily.
Another good video Charlie, looks like a good place to stay. You did the right thing by going home it's not worth taking a risk when you can go back on a good day and enjoy the ride.
That's what I thought. đ
That place looked brilliant for a wee getaway, great find. Wise to head home too đ
Thanks Iain.
Great video Charlie. Credit to you for making that wise decision đ
So glad to hear you had (in your words) a great rogering, always nice to get your leg over for a satisfying đ ride, hope the back roads weren't too bouncing...at least you ended up beside a gushing flow of đŠ water.
Mind you 'The' Island' seems a tad steep at 200 'nicker' for two days............still as you mentioned you do get a hot dip in the tub!!
Here's to more of your 'adventures' !đ đ
Another excellent instalment and wise decision
Thanks Geoff. đ
Youâre so brave to stay there on your own overnight đ±. Well done.
Roger looks ideal for you too.
We are still getting to know each other, but I think he likes me. đ
@@restdayrider well looks like a great match canât wait to see more adventures
Hi Charlie! Wow that looks wonderful, might have to pay this place a visit myself. Love the cosy upturned boat! Fabulous đ
It is a truly lovely place. đ
Enjoying your content. That tub looked perfect after a days riding x
It absolutely was. đ
That was a lovely video and so was that glamping place. As a very old biker (now actually on Honda Maxi scooter as easier on the hips) I've probably got to this age because when that little inner voice says 'go slower, turn back, go home, don't go out' I listen and usually obey. So you absolutely did the right thing. Always enjoy your vids.
Thank you Richard, that's so nice to hear. đ
Braw wee find. !!
Lovely video, I love the camp site. Beautiful music.
Thank you. đ
What a brilliant place - I love the kitchen - Ride safe!
Good choice Charly there is just to many thing that can go wrong ridding in the fog. Love that abnb that was super cool.
It was a great find. đ
Thanks for cracking episode, you did the right thing turning around.the island looked cool and spooky in equal measures. Graeme.
Spooky doesn't worry me, I'm often the scariest thing in the woods. đ
Well done. That bike was made for those conditions. đ
I did 165 miles around Wales yesterday. 162 of them in freezing fog, wasn't the best. Saw the missing sun when I went over the Gospel Pass.
What a place Charlie exellent no one to anoy.looks brilliant and peacefull.đđ„
I do enjoy annoying people tho. đ€Ł
@@restdayrider i do rearly nowt wrong with that đ€Łđ€Ł
Amazing video.
Keep them coming.
The quality of your videos is accurating exponentially. I'm sure your subs will be close behind.
Good call at the end.
Thank you Tim. đ
Love the location. Roger is also looking good. I agree wet, cold overnight frost and freezing fog is a big combat indicator to go home a have a brew.
My recent ride to and from work had similar conditions couldnât wait for the brew when I got in. As always Charlie keep safe and the rubber side down
Thank you Robert, yeah I'm not a fan of the Fog!
Great video and what a fantastic place. I bet you plan another trip back there in the spring or summer.
Definitely! đ
Loving your music choices... So very happy đâ€
Thank you. đ
What a great place to stay, definitely my kind of thing. Thanks for sharing!
Glad youâre liking the new bike. Quite tempted to change mine for something more suited to touring đ€
I'm glad I took the plunge, it's nice having a road and a more rugged bike. đ
What a lovely place to stay. Great find. Enjoyed your whole ride.
Thank you.đ
Life is good! Himalayan a fun machine!
We are certainly enjoying getting to know each other đ
The Island, wow what a lovely place. You did the right thing heading for home in those conditions as the cold and damp slowly get to you and slow your reactions down. Not long ago I went to pick the wife up from work which is out in the sticks, sadly due to a bad accident during the night the main road was closed and I ended up in similar conditions as in your trip, wet back roads littered with pot holes, wet leaves and mud everywhere and I was riding my plastic galleon ( Honda 1100 Pan ). Great you are still enjoying your bike in the winter months, as a tip I use ACF 50 spray to keep winter road salt damage at bay, messy if you spray it straight on so I spray it on a cloth and spread it around that way. Take care, ride safe.
He'll be getting a wash down , dry and ACF spray soon. đ
thanks for sharing a new adventure charlie a great ride and a great place to stay, yes fog is always troublesome with your visor fogging up i tried so many things to keep it away but there is no 100% solution i guess so you made the right decision. Onto new adventures with Roger soon i hope seems like eventually you will get along just fine with him! ;-)
We are still getting to know one another, but he's putting up with me stalling and faffing. đ
Brill đ
what a super place you spent the night, so relaxing. Sorry for you that the fog messed up your trip.
There's always next time. đ
Great video and what a lovely place to stay. Way too cold for me though, fair play that you got your bike out and did it eh!! đđ
Thank you. đâïž
Hi Charlie. I've driver fog. I got home covered in Friday. Leather jacket, vest and leather pro-rider chaps. And layers of Thermo. It was first week of November. It was fun. Friends called me hard core bike. So are you đ Charlie. Ride hard, ride safe be free.
Miss spelled not Friday, FOG. Ok my last comment. đđ
Thanks Lorenzo, never thought of myself as very hard core! đ
Fantastic video and what a great place ,watching a few of your solo vids has really given me the inspiration I need to move along this year and get myself out solo bike camping and touring , I lost my wife a few years back and it just didn't seem right getting out there alone , time to move on ....on two wheels ;) , thank you
I'm sorry to hear of your loss Carl. It can be therapeutic getting out solo, I'd suggest a night at a time rather than a tour to start off. X
Yep, Winter riding is a pain(literally!). Pin lock visor definitely. When cold and wet you start to lose concentration and confidence and become vulnerable. Good call to say enough is enough (if you can). If a cafe nearby use it, might have one or two fossils like me who had to learn the hard way. Times I stuck my gloves on the engine to warm them (and my fingers) up. Get tips from them. Meanwhile, Well done! P.S. try and get road crap off the bike when home before it starts eating the metal. I loved the musicâŠ.
Thank you Patricia, pin lock is on order. đ
Go girl...
Looks fantastic, yer no doubt be great in summer, but in saying that at my age peace and quiet is uppermost and you wonât get that in summer, you and Rodger no doubt will have great adventures aheadâ€ïžđtravelling in winter is totally differentđ
A great video, very entertaining as always. Glamping in November! Don't let it be said that aren't committed to your cause đ.
Respect and admiration as always Charlie. Having similar issues now that I have gone full time biker, as we are getting into my first winter of proper biking I find that my gear needs upgrading some what. And don't get me started on fogging visors, oh my days.. I had to ride the last 40 miles from the NEC last week with my visor fully open in the rain. A character building ride đł . Keep up the great work, we're all loving it. You are so real and relatable to. â€ïž
Hi Andrew đ If you have found any winter kit winners and must haves then do let me know!!! âïžđ
Will do Charlie. The only game changer for me so far is Oxford heated grips that were already fitted to my suzuki SV650S (my winter hack!), not had cold fingers since.
A very nice video, your a tough lady ride safe and thank you.
Thank you.đ
Gr8 wee spot to chillax. In your job you deserve it.. nice one đ
It was very much needed. đ
Nice one Charlie , what a lovely quiet place to stop the night , stunning place and even better in the spring or summertime, the classic motor hub is a nice place to visit , you might even see Henry Cole there, you did the right thing to bail out, well hope the weather changes for Saturday at the Santa bike ride ( Bristol) , bit of a ride from home to there but Iâve donated kindly for the cause , all the best and stay safe đ
I looked at the Santa ride, sadly I'm working. đ, I hope the weather is kind and it's a great day. đ
What a lovely peacefull location deffantley himalayan territory, yeah that slim on the lanes can be daunting on a new bike... nothing wrong with bailing wise decision, great to see your channel growing take care and ride safe.
Thank you Phil. đ
Nice vid, well done, hard to be sensible when things are so close. Enjoy the bike, sounds nice.
Thank you đ
Hi Charlie it's Charlie looked like a nice place to stay wasn't as nice as that the last time I was in an upturned boat đ
Good to see that sensible Charlie got the better of adventure Charlie đ
Great video mate.
Chas.
Sensible Charlie makes an occasional non negotiable decision. đ
