I seen something that said Shakur’s fighting style is muscle memory from sparring Bud Crawford a lot. And it honestly makes sense why he’d be so good defensively and hesitant offensively.

Shakur is a great technique fighter, doses a great job at not getting hit, not aggressive but pick his spot very well .. He is very patient, he gets his shots and resets well... He has power, but does not rely on it, he rely on the other fighter to make a mistake..

Somebody made a good point yesterday and they said Shakur doesn’t take risks he’s not trying to get hit or get touched he’s trying to leave the same way he came into a fight. In the Tank vs Martin fight tank had more damage to his face then Martin and tank won the fight
Well of course you’re going to take some damage being the aggressor like Tank was against Martin. He was willing to get hit in order to open opportunities to land his power shot.
@@istayfly313 Tank was not the aggressor on the fight. He wasnt the aggressor until the round before he knocked him out. Tank honestly don't throw many punch, he usually waits until his opponent tires himself out then he starts going for the kill....Shakur will not tire himself out
@@animedebo8183 Tank was definitely the aggressor. From the opening bell he never stopped coming forward. Frank didn’t have enough power to make Tank back up, neither will Shakur. Mind you Tank is willing to take a punch to give a punch, and we all know who has the devastating KO power at the 135 division. Shakur isn’t ready yet
@@kamaujackson2121 If you watch Tank's ko's you'll see he either telegraph or jumps in when he gets the ko shot...With him telegraphing or jumping toward Shakur do you actually believe he actually going to land a flush shot on the vest defensive fighter in boxing? Tank doesn't throw enough punches to set anything up for a fighter of Shakur's level. Legit everyone Tank fights are pedestrian or fighters who lack solid defensive capabilites. Frank Martin was no different and I was saying that before the fight even happened

Coming off an injury (especially consider he has a history of weakness in the hands/wrists) I feel like Shakur will be more willing to perform in a fight he’s more emotionally invested in at this point. He was offensively dominant against Yoshino similar to his earliest fights @126 & 130. He still has the capacity to be a killer, he just had a mental barrier to break through rn.

Shakur either needs to change trainers to Bomac or keep his trainer but bring in someone with the opposite style as an assistant or co coach like Freddie Roach and get his muscle memory used to being offensive when he needs to, it will also make his style more exciting and marketable....

We gotta stop lying. This wasn’t a brilliant performance. He had the guy in front of him and threw the same 4 punches. He doesn’t know how to set up big shots. His sequences get predictable so opponents can brace for the punches. Tank setup Frank Martin from round 1. He pressured him and set him up for the KO, by using faints and getting him comfortable. Then he got hit with an unexpected punch that got him out of there. Thats a high boxing. IQ.
