- UP's super sized 6936 loco is the third motor on an eastbound freight headed for Proviso. The DDA40X will then go to Union, IL for the Illinois Railway Museums 60th anniversary.

1/2 a Centennial would pull the entire train...and some. Nice vid man. I'm a Kiwi (New Zealander) and I only wish UP/America would restore as many Centennials as possible. They are absolute history not only for America - for the entire world to appreciate. They are quintessentially the biggest and most powerful diesel-electric locomotive of all time - and as they were named 'Centennial' - their existence should be celebrated big time! America & Australia are noted for producing muscle cars...well the Centennial/Big Jack is definitely a MUSCLE train! The performance of a Centennial in my humble opinion was phenomenal for its time/era - and still are. Someone needs to make a movie about them. I'd be the first to buy a ticket to the premier!

Thanks Ryan. I didn't find out it was comin my way until just two days ago.
I'd be bummed if I were the crew to see 6936 in the trailing position when the train pulled up for the crew change. To know a Centennial is in the consist, but not be able to run it on point has got to be disappointment.
