Jelous people. I live in my van. Im now on a farmers field but when i stayed on the roads i dealt with allsorts. People trying to break in with me asleep inside, people threw milk shake allover my windscreen, police knocking on my door just being nosy. It was hard. Now im on the field van life for me is amazing. Never go back to renting. Have a good drive my fellow van people

We were there 4 weeks ago and like you never had a problem anywhere before. I was cooking tea with the window open and a car drove by and the driver shouted f**k off home so im thinking its the same person.

Sorry to hear you were sworn at like that, I don’t understand their mentality, sad for them they feel the need to shout abuse at someone who isn’t hurting them, you were causing no harm, leaving no trace and you’re spending money in the area you’re visiting boosting their economy, not only that you’re acting as a free tourist guide showing people the market, so win win for the area you’re visiting. Locals and councils should realise this and see responsible overnighters like you are a bonus.
Some comments mention how you parked but I don’t see an issue with that either, you were the only one there overnight so you weren’t taking up too much space and as long as you arrive when it’s quiet and move or reposition before it gets busy again there’s no problem.

In that spot we was parked we was just to long and I was worried about someone hitting front of van , so we parked other way and come morning when cars started arriving we simply moved on , thus not to course a problem 🙏 thanks for your support on that one 😉

Ive been in my van for 5 yrs now and pleased to say ive never had any issues, other that the odd dirty look. I just wave back at them.

Aawww thanks Andy and Rachel it was a stunning view up there . Think some people just try to spoil our fun , but we brushed it off and stayed and had a wonderful nights sleep as well .. the music I use is from epidemic sounds there’s so much to choose from 😊

A couple of times we parked in lay-bys with lorry drivers had cars sounding their horns as they drive by in the night or early mornings. It’s no bother to me cos I don’t have to work the next day but the poor truckers trying to keep a nights sleep. What if we was to drive round their house and last our horn all night. It’s pretty much the same thing. We are in our home, the truckers are in their temp home for the night. Baffles me what they think they are achieving? Idiots! 😊
Ye there was a couple of horn beepers , like you say Greg don’t let it bother you . Tbh we’ve done a fair bit of wild camping, but first time we e experience this !! . Definitely idiots mate

2 places we love - Bakewell and Monsal Head. We stopped in that exact space the day we picked our van up. We nearly forgot we were. Toad in the hole is a great shout in Ridgemonkey. Also you made us remember that we have a bottle of wine for tonight 😂 I would have ketchup with Yorkshire pudding too 😍
We thought about stopping in that car park but £70 fine put us off lol 😂.. I personally prefer gravy , but kathryn like red sauce

We have a right ! To wild camp and especially on the road it's in the highway code everyone has a right by law to parkup and rest for a day. Cameron Mcneish fairly recently helped someone who was facing legal action win their case! Know our rights and exercise them!

22 years of living in various vehicles in the wilds and urban camping also, never had an issue with idiots disturbing or bothering me, how times have changed its sad, I did have a doberman called domino who was huge I think that helped, chin up mate and do a thorough walkabout where you intend to park up just to make sure your not visable from the road it works realy well for a chilled time
Wow 22years I bet you’ve found some incredible places to stop Gordon . The vast majority of people we meet are lovely but as anything in life there a few out the way a try and spoil it , we stayed put didnt stop us have a great nights sleep anyway , thanks for the tip 👍
@@FieldviewAdventures yes some breath taking stops I'd drive about where I intended to park get out and look from all angles of the road untill my vehicle wasn't visable to others driving past especially at night, i avoided lay buys because they attract mainly idiots and the police, I also used to love waking up in the morning and be blown away by the veiws of where I'd parked up the night before.yes and I met some great folks on my adventures traveling, don't let idiots stop your travels and many happy adventures youl be glad you did it, it certainly opened my mind body and soul and taught me many things in life that many don't experience 👍👍

There have been a lot of issues in that area. Locals report vans as suspicious all the time. It’s worse in summer
I knew I recognised where you was! I camped at a camp site just down the road from where you wilscamped was a lovely area, there’s a fresh milkshake place not far with by far the best milkshakes I will try and find you the name the family that run it are lovely!

i went past you guys on friday or saturday mprning , dont even worry about it it will be young ones , loads of people park where you are but must say there are some fab places to park other than there as its actually quite a busy road up there , i live a few miles away and spend all my mornings going out and about doing photography so have come across some lovely places ;)

Why take up two spots, it's hard enough trying to park as it is without van lifers taking up extra space unnecessarily. *Yes you could have parked normally with enough room
We tried but stuck out to close onto the road! We arrived late and left early so not to cause a problem 👍

Hi what is your gas fill set up. Is it the expensive refill bottle or is it the cheap adapter off ebay that connects to a normal gas bottle and I'd it any good.
And is the gas at petrol stations readily available thanks. Née subscriber
We have a gaslow bottle that we fill at the petrol station tracey , it so much cheaper that way . Only down side is the lpg station ms arnt everywhere but we normally top up when passing one .., there is an app for your phone to find a station tho ( myLPG.eu) look it up on App Store , give’s prices and location and shows last time it was used ect 😉

I have done this for nearly 30 years, starting off in an old Bedford van, parking up anywhere, spending money in the local community. When you adveritse your park ups its only going to lead to more and more people going, which in turn will lead to the dreaded orange signs. I am guilty of sharing locations many years ago, thinking i was doing good, this was back in 2009 when i joined a group specifically for wild camping locations, then over time i saw my favourite locations getting busier and busier and harder to find spots, turning up to them full of campervans, all posting on YT saying how little money they have spent. Not all vanlifers are as responible as you, not all vanlifers spend money, they just want to promote the ''Free'' lifestyle. I used to think that locals where lying about seeing vanners empting their toilets in car parks, until i actually witnessed it myself leaving a heap of dirty toilet paper behind, of course i reported it and took their reg number, however, it falls on deaf ears, nobody does anything except for putting up the signs. I have parked up at Castleton for many many years, now its just like a campsite, chairs and tables out taking up precious parking spots, i was there just a couple of weeks ago, someone was trying to park up to go and visit the Blue John cavern, they couldnt get parked because of the way other vans had parked and taken up so much space, i do feel there will be a ban on this place, its got ridiculous. I still have my van but will only use campsites or pubs now because of the abuse i get, im a solo female vanner, ive been egged, had black spray paint sprayed on my van, my tyres punctured, verbal abuse, dirty looks, called a dirty tramp scrounger, i could go on. I am part of a group that are fighting for Aires and more park up locations, this to me is the way forward, applying a small fee for parking, i know the majority of people want to pay, but there is no option is some places. this country is so backward thinking, embrace the growing demand. there are public toilets with signs saying you cant empty your toilet, and im not talking Scotland, thats a different ball game with the eco system. In our large towns and cities, the councils could apply a £1 or £2 charge to use just one toilet, rather than going to the expense of putting in an Elsan point. Be mindful that when you are sharing locations, the locals see them too, especially the parking app, people are actually now commenting on there saying to stay away, we dont want you here.
I know last time we went to castleton it’s absolutely full of vans these days , we much prefer to be out the way if we can . We don’t mind paying a small fee either , this country’s so behind other countries where they accept and supply places to stay . Personally we e not seen and bad vanlifers but heard plenty of story’s !!

Bakewell is stunning isn't it? Lovely coffee shop on the corner near the bridge. We went there in March during an unusual mini heatwave for my partners birthday and sat along the river.. just subscribed

Hello friend, I came across you channel and you do have good content, so keep it going. I´d like to leave a friendly constructive criticism though if you are willing to take it. Perhaps you should look into how to use a audio ducking ( also know as side chaining) in your video sound so that the background music does not play lowder than your voice track. Give it a go, it changed my content. High regards friend.
Yes I’m allways up for constructive criticism and I agree the music was overpowering me , when I edited it on my lap top with headphones I thought I’d dropped it enough, but once I viewed it back on tv I must agree with you . I look into that and thanks for the tip 👌

An elderly British CZcams van life couple were woken in the middle of the night by British brick throwing thugs. Broken windshield, side window. Damaged van body. Has really shaken them. They were parked in a rural area, parking lot with other vehicles, including another camper van.
Wow hopefully we never experience this kind of behaviour.. that would shake a lot of people really bad , some people just wanna spoil things for others 😞

Great vlog guys, shame about the morons shouting what they did. As the saying goes, every village has one. Great view to wake up to an all 👌 I used to love camping in the Peak District. Granted it was on a hill or a mountain, but it was such a great place to wake up in.

I didn’t think it was legal to stay overnight in any of the National parks in England without permission. I know many do. It wouldn’t be so bad if the absolute minority hadn’t ruined for the likes of you and me and the rest of the responsible campers who leave no trace. From other’s I follow it seems you were lucky to get away with verbal abuse thank goodness. A few have had people trying to open their door and even one couple who had their side window smashed in completely, their windscreen cracked and their side panel dented when 3 idiots pulled up and lobbed house bricks at then in the early hours. Just stay safe guys, there are some utterly despicable people with mother better to do than harass innocent folk who are doing no harm.
Exactly caz we’re doing no harm 👌 .. like you say it’s a minority.. not sure about the legal side of parking up tbh but we try to not take the Micky and only stay in a spot for one night and like you say leave no trace . 😉

There are a lot of bricks being thrown through windows and Vans being attacked in the middle of the night, seems like the local people have had enough of Instagramers and youtubers taking up their carparks and blocking their villages....say safe out there and sleep with one eye open !

It’s the minority of people ruining it for the rest of us who call themselves campers/vanlifers and blatantly dumping their rubbish all over the place, especially in national parks like the lakes or up in Scotland which is very annoying as they’ll spoil it for us when the authorities clamp down. Who can blame the locals either, it’s only the minority but if we all …. And I know we shouldn’t have to … but clear up an area if you can like the beach cleans that are always done. Many hands make light work - otherwise wild camping will be no more!!
