I made the same pancakes last week for my elderly parents after watching the "Japanese fluffy pancakes" video by Princess Bamboo on You Tube. You have to tweak the recipe a little bit like you did with the heat, and at one point I added a little more flour because the batter looked a little too runny. They turned out great. They looked as tall as your first ones. My 90 year old father asked for more pancakes three times! He ate six pancakes! I put strawberries, blue berries, bananas, walnuts and syrup on them. Yummy! Loved Gatsby's ride in the wagon and the music. He was stylin'!

6:00 truth. I had the premium pancakes at Gram in Tokyo in 2017 and in Osaka this year. They only make 20 plates (3 pancakes per plate) 3 times a day. It looks like a lot of work.
