  • You have one day to spend in York (although you need much longer!). We walk a route in almost real time (you can watch on a device as you go around) or sit in the comfort of your home 000s of miles away and plan where to spend time on your trip. This film has a full detailed commentary and includes visits to the insides of some attractions in which curators introduce you to what is there. The route shows you all the main attractions in the central area (to the north of the river).

I’ve just watched 3 videos on York and this is the first one to give me the information I actually wanted. History, navigation, explanations for what I’ll see. Thank you! I’ll be looking for more of your videos.

My wife and I are up in July 2023, having looked at various generic blogs, and only covers their interpretation of what they think a visitor would like to see ie the Tourist traps, themed shops etc. This presentation, delivered in a more informative and comprehensive guide of York is without a doubt, the most one that covers the history and takes you through places of interest for our visit.

Great video, I'm watching from Edinburgh and I had just come back from a trip to York and pining to go back.I saw so much on your video that I saw when i visited and saw so much that I wished I had seen but gives me an excuse to go back. I loved that you took the time to show the inside of venues too and not just the outside and the interviews were great and very informative too so thank you. It would be great for you to do the York cat trail on one of your walks!

The videos produced by Mark Saville and his friends are quite simply wonderful. The photography is excellent and shows off the beautiful scenery perfectly. However the quality of the commentary is just perfect. It is more like you are listening to a friend chatting. The content knowledge is outstanding and presented in a very easy to listen to voice. I would highly recommend people to watch these videos before exploring Yorkshire so to make days out far more focused. Thank you!

Gate in these places does not refer to the actual gates, for these are called Bars, because they bar the road, Gate means Street. It comes from the Norse meaning 'way'.
