How to Build a DYI Patio using TRUEGRID Paver System

Full backyard DYI patio build using TRUEGRID Pavers Deco product. This is a quick and easy way to build a new patio for your backyard for the whole family.

Day 1: - Layout TRUEGRID Pavers and trace outline on the ground
- Dig out the outline of the patio
- Stretch string across patio layout to check how level the ground is
- Dig out patio layout to a depth of 2.5 - 3"
Day 2: - Install 3" tall landscape edging around patio outline
- Layout 2 layers of Weed Barrier Landscape Fabric across the entire patio area
- Take a nap on the dog
Day 3: - Dump pea gravel into patio outline
- Stretch a string across the patio area and set each end 1 - 2" above the landscape edging
- Use a 3 - 4" tall and a few feet long board to make the pea gravel surface parallel to the string
- Leave 2" from the surface of the pea gravel to the top of the landscape edging
- Layout TRUEGRID Pavers, use a rubber mallet to hammer each piece level with each other
- Place the step stones in the each paver and walk around on them to settle them in
Day 4: - Take fine dirt and fill any gaps left on the outside of the landscape edging
- Fill TRUEGRID Pavers with pea gravel, use broom to sweep pea gravel off of step stones
- Overfill pavers slightly to account for settling and completely cover plastic pavers
