@@Broxty wasted is a strong word. Besides the price tag on these WLToys cars is laughable compared to the big boys. What I actually meant is the process I went through a few times with these little cars. Taught me more than every CZcams video I’ve ever watched on the subject. So now when I put 500 dollar upgrades in a 1000 dollar RC I know exactly what I’m doing and how all the separate pieces work also what tweaks make a real difference and which are pointless wasted time. That said those tiny cars still sit on my shelf unused but upgraded and pretty cool little toys

I bought the 144001 and didn't expect much, but I will say I really like this car, it's quick for an rtr and has been durable, I flipped it 2 different times in the ditch upside down in water, both times I expected it to die, dried it out and it runs great, will definitely bit be changing to brushless but will run brushed a lil longer

Best value for the money is a 15T Modified motor with stock ESC and stock pinion on stock lipo. 66km/h. ESC and motor get VERY HOT !!! Therefore, in summer one might better install 2 fans for motor and ESC. I used LRP V10 spec3 15x4 motor (167W - 34.100 rpm).

@@classicvwbugsBro, of course you can NOT run a modified motor on 3s...But the stock motor runs really nice on 3s and Quicrun 1060ESC 👍 I´d rather recommend to upgrade the ESC to the 1060 and run the stock motor on 3s because then you don´t need to fight with the glued motor mount screws and glued pinion gear 🤙 Speed is above 70km/h on 3s. Motor gets quite hot but seems to be able to handle the voltage => 180mAh consumption per minute on 2s and 280mAh consumption per minute on 3s. The stock motor is REALLY REALLY GOOD !!! Got no tools ? May be LC racing adjustable motor mount for 2838 + 17 tooth pinion (ordered to give a try). Brushless EASYEST upgrade with stock body: Get hobbywing quicrun 10BL120 + surpass hobby 3650 platinum 3100KV or 3600 KV and even on stock 2S it is like having a rocket powering a car, still very good on dirt track. Then I can testimony you will never want an arma limitless for asphalt ! I begun an harem of 144001, already ordered 8 x 144001 and waiting small pinion to make another 2838 superlegera. Have a look on Aliexpress you can even order all LC racing parts to make a monster truck copy of the EMB with all original parts including tires and paint body + body mount + MT bumper for 50€ (ordered them). Got my monster 3650 120 AMP combo with Dumbo RC including gyro and new servo was less than 100€ on ali + stock car was 60€ so the all is way cheaper than an EMB considering motor power and controller range. But EMB would be humiliated regarding speed and power for a 160€ total.
